Numerical investigation of the thermocapillary actuation behavior of a droplet in a microchannel

TL;DR: In this article, the thermocapillary actuation behavior of a silicone droplet in a microchannel is numerically investigated, where the finite element method with the two-phase level set technique is employed to solve the Navier-Stokes equations coupled with the energy equation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Numerical study of the thermocapillary droplet migration in a microchannel under a blocking effect from the heated upper wall

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present a numerical computation to investigate the transient thermocapillary migration of a small liquid droplet in a microchannel when the upper wall of the microchannel is set to be a constant temperature higher than the lower wall, subjected to a uniform temperature gradient, and the evolution of the temperature distribution both inside and outside the droplet affects the migration behavior.
Journal ArticleDOI

Numerical study of the migration of a silicone plug inside a capillary tube subjected to an unsteady wall temperature gradient

TL;DR: In this article, the authors used finite element method with the two-phase level set technique, developed by Comsol Multiphysics, to solve the incompressible Navier-Stokes equations coupled with the energy equation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Numerical investigation of the forward and backward thermocapillary motion of a water droplet in a microchannel by two periodically activated heat sources

TL;DR: In this paper, the transient forward and backward thermocapillary motion of a water droplet in a microchannel occupied by the hexadecane oil was numerically investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI

Numerical study of aerodynamic performance and flow characteristics of a centrifugal blower

TL;DR: In this paper , the effect of the operating condition such as the impeller speed on the centrifugal fan performance and flow characteristics was investigated. But the authors focused on the effect on the blower topology optimization design.
