Journal ArticleDOI
Hydraulic conductivity of soil sorptive zones created by in situ injection of a cationic surfactant
TL;DR: In this article, the hydraulic properties of soils modified by injection of hexadecyltrimethylammonium (HDTMA) were investigated using soil columns and a fixed-ring consolidometer.

ReportDOI
Bioreactor Landfill Research and Demonstration Project Northern Oaks Landfill, Harrison, MI
TL;DR: This observation indicates that bioreactor landfills located in cold climate and filled during winter months may require mechanisms to increase temperature and initiate biodegradation, and temperature may be the next important factor controlling the biological decomposition in anaerobic bioreactors.
Journal ArticleDOI
Prediction of leachate concentrations in petroleum‐contaminated soils
TL;DR: This article measured TPH, toluene, m− and p−xylene, and naphthalene levels in gasoline-contaminated soil columns before and after forced air venting and relating these values to the aqueous phase concentrations measured when water is percolated through the same columns.
Journal ArticleDOI
A couples-focused intervention for smoking cessation during pregnancy: The study protocol of the Quit Together pilot randomized controlled trial.
Cristian Meghea,Cristian Meghea,Alexandra Brînzaniuc,Alexandra Sidor,Răzvan M. Cherecheş,Dan Mihu,Cristian I. Iuhas,Florin Stamatian,Gabriela Caracostea,Marina Denisa Dascal,Kristie L. Foley,Adriana Baban,Thomas C. Voice,Oana Maria Blaga +13 more
TL;DR: If effective, Quit Together is expected to have a sustainable positive impact on the health of the child, mother and partner, and potentially reduced health system costs.
