Journal ArticleDOI
Spatial order within but not between types of retinal neurons.
TL;DR: Every neuron studied was found to be nonrandomly positioned, which would imply that a cell's final position is independent of the cell's position at the time of its specification, and a reason why this might be desirable.
Journal ArticleDOI
Chromatic Bipolar Cell Pathways in the Mouse Retina
TL;DR: An antagonistically organized blue/green circuit as the common basis for mammalian dichromatic color vision is supported, and type 1 represents the green OFF pathway in mouse.
Journal ArticleDOI
G protein subunit Gγ13 is coexpressed with Gαo, Gβ3, and Gβ4 in retinal ON bipolar cells
TL;DR: In this article, the expression of Gγ13, a recently discovered G protein subunit, and a selection of Gβ subunits in retinal bipolar cells was investigated by using a transgenic mouse strain in which green fluorescent protein is strongly expressed in a single type of cone bipolar cell.
Journal ArticleDOI
Die Retina im Rausch der Kanäle
Journal ArticleDOI
Chromatic Coding from Cone-type Unselective Circuits in the Mouse Retina
TL;DR: Using electrophysiology, modeling, and calcium imaging, it is found that "alpha-like" retinal ganglion cells, which previously have not been implicated in chromatic processing, display color-opponent responses when located in the vicinity of the opsin transitional zone.
