Journal ArticleDOI
Does gender and experience influence shade matching quality
Helene J. Haddad,Holger A. Jakstat,Gerwin Arnetzl,Judit Borbély,Alessandro Vichi,Herbert Dumfahrt,Patrick Renault,Nicoleta Corcodel,Boštjan Pohlen,Gyula Marada,Juan Antonio Martínez Vázquez de Parga,Mamaly Reshad,Thomas Klinke,Wolfgang Hannak,Rade D. Paravina +14 more
TL;DR: Females achieved significantly better shade matching results than males, indicating that gender plays an important role in shade matching.
Journal ArticleDOI
Artifacts in magnetic resonance imaging and computed tomography caused by dental materials.
Thomas Klinke,Amro Daboul,Juliane Maron,Tomasz Gredes,Ralf Puls,Ahmad Al Jaghsi,Reiner Biffar +6 more
TL;DR: Recognizing these findings would help dental materials manufacturers and developers to produce materials which can cause less artifacts in MRI and CT images.
Journal ArticleDOI
Clinical performance during 48 months of two current glass ionomer restorative systems with coatings: a randomized clinical trial in the field.
TL;DR: Both materials showed similar good overall performance in class I cavities; however, when including numbers from both class I and II fillings, the Equia system with a nanofilled resin coating showed better overall performance with fewer failures in all the follow-up intervals.
Journal ArticleDOI
Reproducibility of Frankfort Horizontal Plane on 3D Multi-Planar Reconstructed MR Images
Amro Daboul,Christian Schwahn,Grit Schaffner,Silvia Soehnel,Stefanie Samietz,Ahmad Aljaghsi,Mohammad Habes,K Hegenscheid,Ralf Puls,Thomas Klinke,Reiner Biffar +10 more
TL;DR: This study revealed excellent intra-examiner reproducibility and inter-ex Examiner reliability of Frankfort Horizontal plane through 3D landmark identification in MRI and proposed it as a sufficiently stable and standardized reference plane for craniofacial structures.
Journal ArticleDOI
Bone substitution materials on the basis of BONITmatrix® up-regulate mRNA expression of IGF1 and Col1a1
Tomasz Gredes,Friedhelm Heinemann,Marzena Dominiak,Heike Mack,Tomasz Gedrange,Alexander Spassov,Thomas Klinke,Christiane Kunert-Keil +7 more
TL;DR: BONITmatrix(®) and OSSA NOVA stimulate the expression of growth factor IGF1, but only the granular dosage form is able to stimulate osteoblast differentiation.
