TL;DR: Fractionation of extracts of mouse pituitary cells by SDS polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis has revealed the presence of four size classes of ACTH with apparent molecular weights of 31 000, 20–26 000 (20–26K), 12–15 000 (12–15K) and 4500 (4.5K).
