Cutting forces in micro-end-milling processes
TL;DR: In this paper, the exact prediction of cutting forces in micro-end-milling is still not fully developed, however, the related cutting edge radius size effect, tool run-out, tool deflection and the exact trochoidal trajectory of tool flute are considered and presented in the proposed analytical prediction model.
Journal ArticleDOI
Experimental evaluation of an eco-friendly grinding process combining minimum quantity lubrication and graphene-enhanced plant-oil-based cutting fluid
Ming Li,Tianbiao Yu,Rongchuang Zhang,Lin Yang,Zhelun Ma,Baichun Li,Xuezhi Wang,Wanshan Wang,Ji Zhao +8 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors evaluated the impact of GPNP on the performance of the hard-to-cut material (HCM) grinding process and provided the experiment basis for applying GPNPs to the MQL grinding.
Journal ArticleDOI
Prediction of cutting forces and instantaneous tool deflection in micro end milling by considering tool run-out
TL;DR: In this article, the authors presented the modeling of cutting forces and instantaneous tool deflection in the micro end milling process, where the cutting forces directly lead to the tool deformation, which will have influence on the quality of machined surface.
Journal ArticleDOI
The relationship between convection mechanism and solidification structure of the iron-based molten pool in metal laser direct deposition
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used the constructed metal laser direct deposition (MLDD) numerical model to analyze the internal convection morphology of the molten pool, and the results showed that the Marangoni movement is the main factor in the formation of cladding layers.
Journal ArticleDOI
In-situ NbC reinforced Fe-based coating by laser cladding: Simulation and experiment
TL;DR: In this paper, an in-situ NbC reinforced Fe-based coating was fabricated on the middle carbon steel surface by laser cladding with the mixture of niobium and boron carbide powder.
