Experimental evaluation of an eco-friendly grinding process combining minimum quantity lubrication and graphene-enhanced plant-oil-based cutting fluid

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors evaluated the impact of GPNP on the performance of the hard-to-cut material (HCM) grinding process and provided the experiment basis for applying GPNPs to the MQL grinding.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effects of ZrO2 and Y2O3 on physical and mechanical properties of ceramic bond and ceramic CBN composites

TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of ZrO2 and Y2O3 addition on the physical and mechanical properties of ceramic bond and ceramic CBN composites were systematically investigated, and the experimental results demonstrated that in the ceramic bonds, both ZrOs and YO3 could promote the formation of glass grid, while the ceramic bond strength would further increase.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of TiC content on the microstructure and wear performance of in situ synthesized Ni-based composite coatings by laser direct energy deposition

TL;DR: In this paper , a series of Ni-based composite coatings were fabricated by direct energy deposition, and the effect of content and size of in situ synthesized TiC on phase compositions, microstructure, defects, and mechanical properties of matrix composites in detail was revealed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Surface prediction in laser-assisted grinding process considering temperature-dependent mechanical properties of zirconia ceramic

TL;DR: In this paper , the authors proposed a predictive model of the surface topography for LAG process considering the changes of temperature-dependent mechanical properties, and a series of experiments were designed and implemented, and the results indicate that the experimental results have a good agreement with that of the simulated surface topographical.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effects of Ni addition on properties of vitrified bond CBN composites in strong magnetic field

TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of Ni doping on microstructures and properties of vitrified bond cubic boron nitride (CBN) composites prepared in strong magnetic field were investigated for applications in CBN grinding tools.
