A demonstration study of ethanol production from sweet sorghum stems with advanced solid state fermentation technology
Shizhong Li,Guangming Li,Lei Zhang,Zhixing Zhou,Bing Han,Wenhui Hou,Jingbing Wang,Tiancheng Li +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, a continuous solid-state fermenter was used to produce 1.5% of the theoretical yield for ethanol production in Inner Mongolia, China using 16 ton of sweet sorghum stems.
Journal ArticleDOI
Modeling of rotating drum bioreactor for anaerobic solid-state fermentation
TL;DR: A mathematical model of a rotating drum bioreactor for anaerobic SSF is developed considering the radial temperature distribution in the substrate bed and is concluded that this mathematical model is a powerful tool to investigate the design and scale-up of an anaerobia SSF fermenter in the application of bioethanol production using cellulosic materials such as sweet sorghum stalks.

Ethanol production from sweet sorghum stalks by advanced solid state fermentation (ASSF) technology
TL;DR: A robust strain of the species Saccharomyces cerevisiae CGMCC1949 was screened and identified, and advanced solid state fermentation (ASSF) technology for fuel ethanol production from sweet sorghum stalks was thus developed as mentioned in this paper.
Journal Article
[Evaluation on glucose-xylose co-fermentation by a recombinant Zymomonas mobilis strain].
TL;DR: In this study, a xylose-utilizing recombinant Zymomonas mobilis TSH01 was constructed by gene cloning, and ethanol fermentation of the recombinant was evaluated under batch fermentation conditions with a fermentation time of 72 h, finding that monopotassium phosphate can facilitate the consumption of xylOSE and enhance ethanol yield.

Membrane separation method of solid state fermentation ethanol
TL;DR: In this article, a method for separating solid state fermentation ethanol through vapor permeation in the technical field of the production of fuel ethanol is described, which comprises the following steps: using a water vapor interlayer to evaporate liquid ethanol and partial water, and ensuring the obtained ethanol-water gaseous mixture to pass through an alcohol permselective membrane so as to greatly increase the concentration of ethanol.
