Journal ArticleDOI
Large pilot-scale submerged anaerobic membrane bioreactor for the treatment of municipal wastewater and biogas production at 25 °C.
Zhe Kong,Jiang Wu,Chao Rong,Tianjie Wang,Lu Li,Zibin Luo,Jiayuan Ji,Taira Hanaoka,Shinichi Sakemi,Masami Ito,Shigeki Kobayashi,Masumi Kobayashi,Yu Qin,Yu You Li +13 more
TL;DR: This work demonstrated the operation of a large pilot-scale submerged anaerobic membrane bioreactor for biogas production from municipal wastewater at ambient temperature of 25 °C, and to the best of the knowledge, this is the largest one-stage submerged AnMBR that has ever been reported.
Journal ArticleDOI
A successful start-up of an anaerobic membrane bioreactor (AnMBR) coupled mainstream partial nitritation-anammox (PN/A) system: A pilot-scale study on in-situ NOB elimination, AnAOB growth kinetics, and mainstream treatment performance.
Jiang Wu,Jiang Wu,Zhe Kong,Zibin Luo,Yu Qin,Chao Rong,Tianjie Wang,Taira Hanaoka,Shinichi Sakemi,Masami Ito,Shigeki Kobayashi,Masumi Kobayashi,Kaiqin Xu,Takuro Kobayashi,Kengo Kubota,Yu You Li +15 more
TL;DR: In this article, an innovative mainstream treatment process that couples the anaerobic membrane reactor (AnMBR) with a one-stage PN/A system was proposed for advancing the concept of carbon neutrality in the municipal wastewater treatment plant.
Journal ArticleDOI
A comparative long-term operation using up-flow anaerobic sludge blanket (UASB) and anaerobic membrane bioreactor (AnMBR) for the upgrading of anaerobic treatment of N, N-dimethylformamide-containing wastewater.
TL;DR: Whether DMF can be effectively degraded depends on DAS, in which abundant DMF-hydrolyzing bacteria (DHB) provide sufficient quantities of the hydrolytic enzyme for effective hydrolysis of DMF.
Journal ArticleDOI
Evaluation of bio-energy recovery from the anaerobic treatment of municipal wastewater by a pilot-scale submerged anaerobic membrane bioreactor (AnMBR) at ambient temperature
Zhe Kong,Lu Li,Jiang Wu,Tianjie Wang,Chao Rong,Zibin Luo,Yang Pan,Dapeng Li,Yong Li,Yong Huang,Yu You Li +10 more
TL;DR: In this article, the potential of bio-energy recovery from real municipal wastewater was investigated using a one-stage pilot-scale submerged anaerobic membrane bioreactor (AnMBR) for a range of HRTs from 24h to 6h at ambient temperature around 25°C.
Journal ArticleDOI
Sludge yield and degradation of suspended solids by a large pilot-scale anaerobic membrane bioreactor for the treatment of real municipal wastewater at 25 °C
Zhe Kong,Jiang Wu,Chao Rong,Tianjie Wang,Lu Li,Zibin Luo,Jiayuan Ji,Taira Hanaoka,Shinichi Sakemi,Masami Ito,Shigeki Kobayashi,Masumi Kobayashi,Yu Qin,Yu You Li +13 more
TL;DR: This is the first report on demonstrating the successful operation and detailed performance of a large pilot-scale anaerobic membrane bioreactor applied to the treatment of real municipal wastewater.
