Zampa,Catia Grimani,John Mitchell,Jonathan F. Ormes,R. E. Streitmatter,R. L. Golden,Steven Stochaj +34 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors used the NMSU-WIZARD/CAPRICE94 balloon-borne magnet spectrometer equipped with a solid radiator Ring Imaging Cerenkov (RICH) detector, a time-of-ight system, a tracking device consisting of drift chambers and multiwire proportional chambers, and a silicon-tungsten calorimeter.
Journal ArticleDOI

Zampa,John Mitchell,Jonathan F. Ormes,R. E. Streitmatter,R. L. Golden,Steven Stochaj +33 more
TL;DR: The first time a ring-imaging Cerenkov detector was used together with an imaging calorimeter in a balloon-borne experiment was reported in this paper, where 516,463 hydrogen and 32,457 helium nuclei were identi-ed in the rigidity range 0.4 to 200 GV and 1.2 to 4.2 GV, respectively.
Journal ArticleDOI
THE COSMIC-RAY ANTIPROTON FLUX BETWEEN 3 AND 49 GeV
Mirko Boezio,V. Bonvicini,P. Schiavon,Andrea Vacchi,N. Zampa,D. Bergström,Per Carlson,Tom Francke,S. Grinstein,M. Suffert,M. Hof,J. Kremer,W. Menn,M. Simon,S. A. Stephens,M. Morselli,P. Picozza,Roberta Sparvoli,John Mitchell,Jonathan F. Ormes,R. E. Streitmatter,Ulisse Bravar,Steven Stochaj +37 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a new measurement of the cosmic ray antiproton spectrum was reported, based on the data collected by the balloon-borne experiment CAPRICE98, which was launched on 1998 May 28, 29 from Fort Sumner, New Mexico.
Journal ArticleDOI
Measurements of ground-level muons at two geomagnetic locations
J. Kremer,Mirko Boezio,M. Ambriola,Guido Barbiellini,S. Bartalucci,Roberto Bellotti,D. Bergström,Ulisse Bravar,F. Cafagna,P. Carlson,Marco Casolino,M. G. Castellano,F. Ciacio,M. Circella,C. Simon,Roberta Sparvoli,P. Spillantini,S. A. Stephens,Steven Stochaj,R. E. Streitmatter,M. Suffert,A. Vacchi,N. Weber,N. Zampa +39 more
TL;DR: In this article, the muon spectra and charge ratio were measured at ground level in the momentum range from 200 MeVc to 120 GeVc for two different geomagnetic locations.
Journal ArticleDOI
Detection of the primary scintillation light from dense Ar, Kr and Xe with novel photosensitive gaseous detectors
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors demonstrate that costly photo-multipliers could be replaced by cheap novel photosensitive gaseous detectors: wire counters, GEMs or glass capillary plates coupled with CsI photocathodes.
