Journal ArticleDOI
Difference in pulmonary permeability between indirect and direct acute respiratory distress syndrome assessed by the transpulmonary thermodilution technique: a prospective, observational, multi-institutional study.
Kenichiro Morisawa,Shigeki Fujitani,Yasuhiko Taira,Shigeki Kushimoto,Yasuhide Kitazawa,Kazuo Okuchi,Hiroyasu Ishikura,Teruo Sakamoto,Takashi Tagami,Junko Yamaguchi,Manabu Sugita,Yoichi Kase,Takashi Kanemura,Hiroyuki Takahashi,Yuuichi Kuroki,Hiroo Izumino,Hiroshi Rinka,Ryutarou Seo,Makoto Takatori,Tadashi Kaneko,Toshiaki Nakamura,Takayuki Irahara,Nobuyuki Saitou,Akihiro Watanabe +23 more
TL;DR: The results of this study suggest the existence of several differences in the increased degree of pulmonary permeability between patients with ARDSexp and ARDSp.
Journal ArticleDOI
Limitations of global end-diastolic volume index as a parameter of cardiac preload in the early phase of severe sepsis: a subgroup analysis of a multicenter, prospective observational study
Tomoyuki Endo,Shigeki Kushimoto,Satoshi Yamanouchi,Teruo Sakamoto,Hiroyasu Ishikura,Yasuhide Kitazawa,Yasuhiko Taira,Kazuo Okuchi,Takashi Tagami,Akihiro Watanabe,Junko Yamaguchi,Kazuhide Yoshikawa,Manabu Sugita,Yoichi Kase,Takashi Kanemura,Hiroyuki Takahashi,Yuuichi Kuroki,Hiroo Izumino,Hiroshi Rinka,Ryutarou Seo,Makoto Takatori,Tadashi Kaneko,Toshiaki Nakamura,Takayuki Irahara,Nobuyuki Saito +24 more
TL;DR: In the early phase of severe sepsis in mechanically ventilated patients, there was no constant relationship between GEDI and fluid reserve responsiveness, irrespective of the presence of SIMD.
Journal ArticleDOI
Global end-diastolic volume is an important contributor to increased extravascular lung water in patients with acute lung injury and acuterespiratory distress syndrome: a multicenter observational study
Tadashi Kaneko,Yoshikatsu Kawamura,Tsuyoshi Maekawa,Takashi Tagami,Toshiaki Nakamura,Nobuyuki Saito,Yasuhide Kitazawa,Hiroyasu Ishikura,Manabu Sugita,Kazuo Okuchi,Hiroshi Rinka,Akihiro Watanabe,Yoichi Kase,Shigeki Kushimoto,Hiroo Izumino,Takashi Kanemura,Kazuhide Yoshikawa,Hiroyuki Takahashi,Takayuki Irahara,Teruo Sakamoto,Yuichi Kuroki,Yasuhiko Taira,Ryutarou Seo,Junko Yamaguchi,Makoto Takatori +24 more
TL;DR: Among several hemodynamic and serum osmolarity factors that could be targets for appropriate intervention, GEDVI appears to be a key contributor to EVLWI in patients with ALI/ARDS.
Journal ArticleDOI
Splanchnic perfusion during controlled hypotension combined with acute hypervolemic hemodilution : A comparison with combination of acute normovolemic hemodilution-gastric intramucosal pH study
TL;DR: Controlled hypotension with prostaglandin E1 would not impair splanchnic perfusion in combination with either HHD or ANH, whereas ANH might cause impairment.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of cyclooxygenase-2 inhibitor pretreatment on gas exchange after hydrochloric acid aspiration in rats
TL;DR: The results show that COX-2 inhibitor attenuates the oxygenation impairment and the increase in alveolar PGE2 concentration during the inflammatory phase of acid aspiration-induced lung injury in rats.
