Journal ArticleDOI
DNA strand breaks are not induced in human cells exposed to 2.1425 GHz band CW and W-CDMA modulated radiofrequency fields allocated to mobile radio base stations.
N. Sakuma,Y Komatsubara,Hiroshi Takeda,Hideki Hirose,Masaru Sekijima,Toshio Nojima,Junji Miyakoshi +6 more
TL;DR: The results confirm that low level exposures do not act as a genotoxicant up to a SAR of 800 mW/kg, which corresponds to the limit of the average whole body SAR for general public exposure defined as a basic restriction in the International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection (ICNIRP) guidelines.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effects on rat testis of 1.95-GHz W-CDMA for IMT-2000 cellular phones.
TL;DR: The number of sperm in the testis and epididymis were not decreased in the electromagnetic field (EMF) exposed groups, and, in fact, the testicular sperm count was significantly increased with the 0.4 SAR, indicating no testicular toxicity was evident under the present exposure conditions.
Journal ArticleDOI
Phosphorylation and gene expression of p53 are not affected in human cells exposed to 2.1425 GHz band CW or W-CDMA modulated radiation allocated to mobile radio base stations.
TL;DR: Results confirm that exposure to low‐level RF signals up to 800 mW/kg does not induce p53‐dependent apoptosis, DNA damage, or other stress response in human cells.

Adaptive equalization system for nonlinearities
Toshio Nojima,Ohyama Satoshi +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, an adaptive equalization system for compensating the nonlinearities generated in a traveling-wave tube amplifier comprises an equalization circuit connected to the traveling wave tube amplifier, which has a series circuit having a distortion generator for providing high order distortion, a variable phase shifter and a variable attenuator for controlling the phase and the amplitude of the output of the distortion generator.
Journal ArticleDOI
Estimation Formulas for the Specific Absorption Rate in Humans Exposed to Base-Station Antennas
Marie-Christine Gosselin,Günter Vermeeren,Sven Kühn,V. Kellerman,S. Benkler,T. M. I. Uusitupa,Wout Joseph,Azeddine Gati,Joe Wiart,F. J. C. Meyer,Luc Martens,Toshio Nojima,Takashi Hikage,Quirino Balzano,Andreas Christ,Niels Kuster +15 more
TL;DR: In this paper, approximation formulas for the whole-body average specific absorption rate (SAR) and the peak spatial SAR of human bodies using readily available basic antenna parameters have been developed and validated in this study.
