Journal ArticleDOI

Erroneous Diabetes Diagnosis: A Case of HbA1c Interference

TL;DR: A 66-year-old Caucasian female was referred for specialist follow-up of her treatment-refractory type 2 diabetes, with persistently elevated HbA1c despite treatment with metformin and, eventually, insulin glargine.
Journal ArticleDOI

Improved resolution of serum bisalbumin on electrophoresis and investigation of bisalbumin in urine.

TL;DR: Improved resolution of albumin variants (bisalbumins, especially albumin Naskapi) from albumin in commercial serum protein electrophoresis systems is shown and variant albumins are also excreted in the urine in the same 50-50 ratio as that found in the serum.
Journal ArticleDOI

A high-throughput test for diabetes care: An evaluation of the next generation Roche Cobas c 513 hemoglobin A1C assay.

TL;DR: The c 513 is a precise, accurate, automated high throughput analyzer for measuring HbA1C in large laboratories and correlated well with the Integra (slope, y-intercept, and correlation coefficient).
