Journal ArticleDOI
MicroRNAs in plasma and cerebrospinal fluid as potential markers for Alzheimer's disease.
Takehiro Kiko,Kiyotaka Nakagawa,Tsuyoshi Tsuduki,Katsutoshi Furukawa,Hiroyuki Arai,Teruo Miyazawa +5 more
TL;DR: The qRT-PCR results provide a possibility that miRNAs detected in plasma and CSF can serve as biomarkers for AD.
Journal ArticleDOI
Analysis of the relationship between the gut microbiome and dementia: a cross-sectional study conducted in Japan
Naoki Saji,Shumpei Niida,Kenta Murotani,Takayoshi Hisada,Tsuyoshi Tsuduki,Taiki Sugimoto,Ai Kimura,Kenji Toba,Takashi Sakurai +8 more
TL;DR: Multivariable analyses showed that the populations of enterotype I and enterotype III bacteria were strongly associated with dementia, independent of the traditional dementia biomarkers.
Journal ArticleDOI
Intake of mulberry 1-deoxynojirimycin prevents diet-induced obesity through increases in adiponectin in mice.
TL;DR: It was shown that DNJ prevents diet-induced obesity through an increase in adiponectin, which is thought to be the factor activated in the β-oxidation system.
Journal ArticleDOI
Possible involvement and the mechanisms of excess trans-fatty acid consumption in severe NAFLD in mice.
Noriyuki Obara,Koji Fukushima,Yoshiyuki Ueno,Yuta Wakui,Osamu Kimura,Keiichi Tamai,Eiji Kakazu,Jun Inoue,Yasuteru Kondo,Norihiko Ogawa,Kenta Sato,Tsuyoshi Tsuduki,Kazuyuki Ishida,Tooru Shimosegawa +13 more
TL;DR: Excessive consumption of the TFA-rich oil up-regulated the lipogenic gene expression along with marked hepatic lipid accumulation, which could be responsible for the pathogenesis of non-alcoholic steatohepatitis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Long-term intake of fish oil increases oxidative stress and decreases lifespan in senescence-accelerated mice.
TL;DR: It is suggested that intake of fish oil increases oxidative stress, decreases cellular function, and causes organ dysfunction in SAMP8 mice, thereby promoting aging and shortening the lifespan of the mice.
