Journal ArticleDOI
Why do singletons conceived after assisted reproduction technology have adverse perinatal outcome? Systematic review and meta-analysis
Anja Pinborg,U.B. Wennerholm,L.B. Romundstad,Annika Loft,Kristiina Aittomäki,Viveca Söderström-Anttila,K.G. Nygren,J. Hazekamp,Christina Bergh +8 more
TL;DR: Subfertility is a major risk factor for adverse perinatal outcome in ART singletons, however, even in the same mother an ART singleton has a poorer outcome than the non-ART sibling; hence, factors related to the hormone stimulation and/or IVF methods per se also may play a part.
Journal ArticleDOI
Incidence of congenital malformations in children born after ICSI
U.B. Wennerholm,Christina Bergh,Lars Hamberger,Kersti Lundin,Lennart Nilsson,Matts Wikland,B. Källén +6 more
TL;DR: The only specific malformation which was found to occur in excess in children born after ICSI was hypospadias (relative risk 3.0, exact 95% CI 1. 09-6.50) which may be related to paternal subfertility.
Journal ArticleDOI
Children born after cryopreservation of embryos or oocytes: a systematic review of outcome data
U.B. Wennerholm,Viveca Söderström-Anttila,Christina Bergh,Kristiina Aittomäki,J. Hazekamp,K.G. Nygren,Anders Selbing,Annika Loft +7 more
TL;DR: Data concerning infant outcome after slow freezing of embryos was reassuring, and properly controlled follow-up studies of neonatal outcome are needed afterSlow freezing of blastocyst and after vitrification of early cleavage stage embryos, blastocysts and oocytes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Risk of hypertensive disorders in pregnancies following assisted reproductive technology: a cohort study from the CoNARTaS group
Signe Opdahl,Anna-Karina Aaris Henningsen,Aila Tiitinen,Christina Bergh,Anja Pinborg,Pål Richard Romundstad,U.B. Wennerholm,Mika Gissler,Rolv Skjærven,Liv Bente Romundstad +9 more
TL;DR: Pregnancies following frozen-thawed cycles have a higher risk of hypertensive disorders, also when compared with fresh cycle pregnancies by the same mother, and the safety aspects in frozen- thawed cycles merit further attention.
Journal ArticleDOI
Determination of pH or lactate in fetal scalp blood in management of intrapartum fetal distress: randomised controlled multicentre trial.
Eva Wiberg-Itzel,C. Lipponer,Margareta Norman,Andreas Herbst,D. Prebensen,Andreas Hansson,A. L. Bryngelsson,M. Christoffersson,M. Sennstrom,U.B. Wennerholm,Lennart Nordström +10 more
TL;DR: There were no significant differences in rate of acidaemia at birth after use of lactate analysis or pH analysis of fetal scalp blood samples to determine hypoxia during labour.
