TL;DR: In this article, a detailed reaction mechanism and a multispecies transport model were used to simulate the explosion limits of the hydrogen-oxygen system and the minimum ignition energies for various mixture compositions, pressures, radii of the external energy source and ignition times.

TL;DR: In this paper, a TEA CO 2 -laser along the axis of a cylindrical vessel is used to simulate the auto-ignition in the O 2 −H 2 system with a detailed reaction mechanism and considering realistic multi-species transport models and thermochemistry.
Abstract: Oxygen-ozone mixtures are ignited by absorption of laser pulses from a TEA CO 2 -laser along the axis of a cylindrical vessel. Laser excitation, molecular relaxation of O 3 , and flame propagation are observed by UV light absorption of O 3 perpendicular to the cell axis. The measurements are interpreted by solving the corresponding one-dimensional non-stationary conservation equations. Differences between experimental results and simulations can be attributed to the degree of complexity of the simulations, which are performed only in one spatial dimension assuming uniform pressure and a thermal source term. Besides the O 2 −O 3 system, for the first time the auto-ignition in the O 2 −H 2 system could be simulated, using a detailed reaction mechanism and considering realistic multi-species transport models and thermochemistry.
