TL;DR: The “COVID-IT-mental health trial” is a no-profit, not-funded, national, multicentric, cross-sectional population-based trial which has the following aims: to evaluate the impact of COVID-19 pandemic and its containment measures on mental health of the Italian population and to identify the main areas to be targeted by supportive long-term interventions for the different categories of people exposed to the pandemic.

TL;DR: The impact of COVID-19 pandemics within a sample of Italian patients affected by OCD was described, with patients showing a clinical worsening of OCD reported a significant emergence of new obsessions and compulsions phenotypes along with a significant exacerbation of past ones.

TL;DR: Clinicians should keep in mind that one out of ten patients with OCD attempts suicide during his/her lifetime, about one third has current suicidal ideation and about half has had suicidal Ideation in the past, which should be factored into clinical risk management.
