Purpose . Efficient use of natural energy resources is one of the priorities of the state policy in the sphere of universities and institutions of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. Besides search and development the new efficient and clean energy systems it is necessary to implement optimal management of the development and operation of existing facilities, reducing their energy costs. Purpose of this work is to develop consumption volume technology of electricity and heat by scientific departments of Dnipropetrovsk National University of Railway Transport named after Academician V. Lazaryan (DNURT) for further finding the ways to reduce energy consumption. The problem is due to the specifics of University’s energy scheme. There is a difficulty for the installation of energy meters and data acquisition about their use in individual branches and structural units. At the same time it is impossible to assess qualitatively the energy position of scientific departments. Methodology. The method to determine the electricity and heat consumption for space heating of scientific departments at the university is based on « The intersectoral rules of electricity and heat energy for institutions and public sector organizations in Ukraine » and « Codes and regulations on rationing of fuel and heat energy for heating the residential buildings as well as for economic needs in Ukraine » . Findings. Developed determining expenditure technology of electricity and heat for heating by scientific departments at the DNURT named after Academician V. Lazaryan allows obtaining data on energy consumption in individual units without direct measure and analyzing the effectiveness of energy saving technologies. Originality. It is represented by energy costs in the form of two components and these components are defined on the basis of the energy audit. This enables the energy inputs to implement energy efficiency measures in the research departments of the university. P ractical value. The developed method can be used as practical tools to monitor energy consumption in the above mentioned university and in similar facilities.

Consumption volumes technology of electricity and heat by departments of the university

Purpose. The paper analyses the possibility and terms of increasing the efficiency of heating and ventilation systems of public buildings at the present stage of development and the specific climatic conditions of Ukraine. The main purpose is to develop specific measures for public buildings, which will lead to a significant reduction in energy costs for heating and air conditioning system. The example is similar system of DNURT compact campus, which is heated with its own autonomous boiler that uses natural gas . Methodology . The statistical heat loss analysis for the last 5 years allows defining the types and calculating the heat loss values for specific conditions. These losses are compared with those in the world practice and based on the comparison and analysis of the current system there are offered the ways to reduce the heat loss values through the use of various technical and organizational methods. The paper also proposes involvement for this purpose of secondary and alternative energy sources. The secondary energy resources include the heat that is emitted by people and that coming out with the air during ventilation of buildings. The renewable sources include solar and geothermal energy. To enhance the heat transfer medium temperature capacity it is proposed to use the heat pumps. Findings . The maximum possible use of the proposed measures and implementation of rational schematic and engineering solutions for heat and hot water supply systems cam reduce the energy loss for heating and hot water by 30-35%. Originality . The paper for the first time proposed the use of new integrated approaches to maintain the desired heat balance in the winter period, as well as the new schematic solutions for heating and ventilation systems, both in winter and in summer, based on the use of heat pumps and secondary energy resources. Practical value . The introduction of the proposed schematic solutions and approaches demand relatively small capital investments and do not require significant reconstruction of already installed systems.

Improving the efficiency of the heating system for public buildings infrastructure in the context of dnurt

Purpose . In modern conditions of energy consumption growth and a rapid increase in energy prices the actual problem is the development and implementation of energy efficiency programs and resource-saving conversion in to a source to provide the needs of industry and municipal power. The paper aims to solve the urgent problem of energy saving and efficient use of fuel-energy ones and heat supply system optimization on the basis of Uman National University of Horticulture (UNUH). Methodology. The work investigated the process of heating and hot water supply in the course of 2007-2015 years. Implementation of current problems of energy saving is grounded on the scientific-practical and efficient assurance of fuel and energy usage. At the same time energy-saving technologies are viewed as a priority direction of the energy sector development, reduction of man-induced impact on the environment and as a way of improving the competitiveness of the national economy. Findings . Statistical data acquisition and analyzing of gas flow and outside air temperature for nine years was carried out. On the basis of this analysis, the problem was identified and specific targets for its solutions were set. Originality . Scientific novelty lies in solving the problem of energy saving and efficient use of fuel resources in Ukraine through the use of a systematic approach, the methodology development of efficient use of different fuels and optimization of local heating operation, applying contemporary automation and control systems. Firstly it was in detail analyzed and conducted the comprehensive assessment of various factors influence on energy conservation. It takes into account the human factor, professionalism and responsibility of the operators of boilers and their superiors, as well as the relevant control services. Practical value . For UNUH campus hybrid use of solid fuel and gas boilers was carried out. Decentralization of the university heating system has been conducted through the restoration of 350 individual heating systems in residential buildings, remote departments and campus dormitories. The conclusions propose the list of activities upon the real economy of fuel and energy resources, and measures to overcome the economic and political crisis in the country.

Heat supply system improvement of campus at uman national university of horticulture

Мета . У дослідженні необхідно проаналізувати можливість та умови забезпечення ефективної роботи систем теплопостачання при переході частки теплогенеруючих потужностей на біопаливо. В якості біопалива пропонується застосовувати солому злакових культур, які широко розповсюджені в Придніпровському регіоні. Головною метою роботи є науковий прорахунок можливості та вартості конкретних заходів для такого переходу. Для прикладу береться котельня компактного містечка Дніпропетровського національного університету залізничного транспорту імені академіка В. Лазаряна (ДНУЗТ), що споживає природний газ. Методика . В роботі проведено аналіз законодавчої бази України, що стимулює застосування відновлювальних джерел в якості палива, а також зроблено аналіз механізмів стимулювання та розвитку цього напрямку. Також визначаються можливості Придніпровського регіону щодо забезпечення отримання та поставок соломи для роботи котельні. Аналізуються вартісні показники перевезень вантажів по території України в 2016 році, які залежать від відстані та розміру вантажівок. Ці показники, а також показники, що пов’язані з її купівлею, розглядаються сумісно з енергетичними можливостями застосування соломи в якості палива. Результати . При існуючих в Україні (станом на 2016 рік) продуктивності зернових у сільському господарстві та вартісних показників у галузі перевезень, переведення частки потужностей на відновлювальне паливо є досить рентабельним. Вартість одиниці теплової потужності при цьому може бути знижена в чотири рази. Наукова новизна . Вперше запропоновано використовувати нові комплексні підходи для оцінки вартості одиниці потужності теплової котельні при переході на застосування відновлювальних джерел енергії. Авторами також запропонована нова логістика доставки цих джерел до місця їх застосування. З технічної та вартісної сторін визначено оптимальний порядок потужності переводу на нові відновлювальні джерела енергії у конкретному регіоні, в залежності від структури посівних площин та їх продуктивності. Практична значимість . Введення запропонованих рішень та підходів до забезпечення потужності котельні відновлювальними джерелами енергії можуть бути реалізовані при відносно невеликих капіталовкладеннях та можуть дати значний економічний ефект.

Using regional renewable energy resourses for heating supply systems

Purpose . Heat consumption for heating and hot water supply of housing and industrial facilities is an essential part of heat energy consumption. Prerequisite for development of energy saving measures in existing heating systems is their preliminary examination. The investigation results of campus heating system of Dnipropetrovsk National University of Railway Transport named after Academician V. Lazaryan are presented in the article. On the basis of the analysis it is proposed to take the energy saving measures and assess their effectiveness. Methodology. Analysis of the consumption structure of thermal energy for heating domestic and hot water supply was fulfilled. The real costs of heat supply during the calendar year and the normative costs were compared. Findings. The recording expenditures data of thermal energy for heating supply of residential buildings and dormitories in 2012 were analyzed. The comparison of actual performance with specific regulations was performed. This comparison revealed problems, whose solution will help the efficient use of thermal energy. Originality. For the first time the impact of climate conditions, features of schemes and designs of heating systems on the effective use of thermal energy were analyzed. It was studied the contribution of each component. Practical value. Based on the analysis of thermal energy consumption it was developed a list of possible energy saving measures that can be implemented in the system of heat and power facilities. It was evaluated the fuel and energy resources saving.
