Journal ArticleDOI

Sensitivity distributions of EEG and MEG measurements

TL;DR: The localization of measurement sensitivity using these techniques was evaluated quantitatively in an inhomogeneous spherical head model using a new concept called half-sensitivity volume (HSV), and it is shown that the planar gradiometers has a far smaller HSV than the axial gradiometer.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of skull resistivity on the spatial resolutions of EEG and MEG

TL;DR: Calculating the half-sensitivity volumes of EEG and MEG as a function of electrode and magnetometer distance with the relative skull resistivity shows that in the spherical model for cortical sources the spatial resolution of the EEG is better than that of the MEG.
Journal ArticleDOI

Validation of a detailed computer model for the electric fields in the brain

TL;DR: A computer model has been designed for the calculation of the electrical fields in the head, based on the finite difference method, which will be applied to accurate and realistic geometries of the human head obtained from magnetic resonance images.
Journal ArticleDOI

Transcranial electrical stimulator producing high amplitude pulses and pulse trains.

TL;DR: It is suggested that the electrical transcranial stimulation has the potential to be a relatively painless method for routine clinical investigations and a reliable method for monitoring during surgery.
