Experimental investigation of using a recycled glass powder-based geopolymer to improve the mechanical behavior of clay soils

TL;DR: In this article, the feasibility of using a geopolymer based on recycled glass powder (RGP) to improve the mechanical behavior of clay soils was investigated, and the results revealed that the UCS and (ef) of specimens that were stabilized using the geopolymers were increased in comparison to the unstabilized specimens.
Journal ArticleDOI

Using calcium carbide residue as an alkaline activator for glass powder–clay geopolymer

TL;DR: In this article, the viability of using calcium carbide residue (CCR) as an alkaline activator and recycled glass powder (RGP) as a precursor to improve properties of clay soils was investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI

Application of improved ANFIS approaches to estimate bearing capacity of piles

TL;DR: This study presents an application of two improved adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) techniques to estimate ultimate piles bearing capacity on the basis of cone penetration test (CPT) results basically used in analysis of pile foundations.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of particle size of sand and surface properties of reinforcement on sand-geosynthetics and sand–carbon fiber polymer interface shear behavior

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of mean particle size (D50), type, and surface properties of reinforcements on shear behavior of soil-reinforcement interface were evaluated using direct shear test.
Journal ArticleDOI

Interface behavior between carbon-fiber polymer and sand

TL;DR: In this article, a layer of sand was placed on saturated carbon fiber during the curing period [spark plasma sintering carbon fiber (SPSCFRP)] and normal stress was applied on the sand.
