Journal ArticleDOI
Abnormal expression of glutamate transporter and transporter interacting molecules in prefrontal cortex in elderly patients with schizophrenia
Deborah Bauer,Deborah Bauer,Daya S. Gupta,Vahram Harotunian,James H. Meador-Woodruff,James H. Meador-Woodruff,Robert E. McCullumsmith +6 more
TL;DR: Exposure to postmortem tissue from the dorsolateral prefrontal and anterior cingulate cortex of patients with schizophrenia and a comparison group indicates that proteins involved in glutamate reuptake and cycling are altered in the cortex in schizophrenia, and may provide potential targets for future treatment strategies.
Journal ArticleDOI
Decreased expression of NMDA receptor-associated proteins in frontal cortex of elderly patients with schizophrenia
Adam J. Funk,Gavin Rumbaugh,Vahram Harotunian,Robert E. McCullumsmith,James H. Meador-Woodruff +4 more
TL;DR: The data suggest that NMDA receptor complex formation, localization, and downstream signaling may be abnormal in schizophrenia.
