Journal ArticleDOI

Magma-carbonate interaction processes and associated CO2 release at Merapi volcano, Indonesia: insights from experimental petrology

TL;DR: In this article, the authors provide well-constrained petrological insights into the problem of crustal interaction at Merapi and point toward the substantial impact of such interaction on the volatile budget of the volcano.
Journal ArticleDOI

Solubility of H2O and CO2 in ultrapotassic melts at 1200 and 1250 °C and pressure from 50 to 500 MPa

TL;DR: In this paper, the solubility of H2O-CO2 fluids in a synthetic analogue of a phono-tephritic lava composition from Alban Hills (Central Italy) was experimentally determined from 50 to 500 MPa, at 1200 and 1250 °C.
Journal ArticleDOI

A new test for equilibrium based on clinopyroxene-melt pairs: Clues on the solidification temperatures of Etnean alkaline melts at post-eruptive conditions

TL;DR: In this article, a global regression analysis was performed to calibrate a model of equilibrium between clinopyroxene and coexisting melt compositions from Mt Etna volcano, where the degree of disequilibrium was determined through the comparison between components "predicted" via regression analyses of cliniciansopyroxenes and liquid pairs in equilibrium conditions, with those "measured" in the analyzed crystals.
Journal ArticleDOI

Amorphous Materials: Properties, structure, and Durability: Oxidation state of iron in hydrous phono-tephritic melts

TL;DR: In this paper, the oxidation state of Fe in hydrous ultrapotassic (phono-tephritic) melts coexisting with mixed H 2 O-CO 2 fluids was studied experimentally at 1200 and 1250 °C and pressures from 50 to 500 MPa.
Journal ArticleDOI

Magma–carbonate interaction: An experimental study on ultrapotassic rocks from Alban Hills (Central Italy)

TL;DR: In this paper, Albani et al. proposed a project FIRB MIUR (Development of innovative technologies for the environmental protection from natural events) for the development of new technologies.
