Journal ArticleDOI
An objective approach to dry eye disease severity.
Benjamin Sullivan,Diane Whitmer,Kelly K. Nichols,Alan Tomlinson,Gary N. Foulks,Gerd Geerling,Jay S. Pepose,Valerie P. Kosheleff,Allison Porreco,Michael A. Lemp +9 more
TL;DR: Tear film osmolarity was found to be the single best marker of disease severity across normal, mild/moderate, and severe categories and supports the rationale for redefining severity on the basis of a continuum of clinical signs.
Journal ArticleDOI
Clinical utility of objective tests for dry eye disease: variability over time and implications for clinical trials and disease management.
Benjamin Sullivan,Leslie Crews,Baris Sonmez,Maria Fideliz de la Paz,Ebru Comert,Victor Charoenrook,Aline L. de Araujo,Jay S. Pepose,Michael S Berg,Valerie P. Kosheleff,Michael A. Lemp +10 more
TL;DR: Over a 3-month period, tear film osmolarity was found to have the lowest variability among commonly used signs of dry eye disease, followed by a downward trend in symptoms that preceded changes in symptoms during therapy.
Journal ArticleDOI
Temperature's influence on the activity budget, terrestriality, and sun exposure of chimpanzees in the Budongo Forest, Uganda.
TL;DR: This study indicates that both temperature in the sun and sun exposure play a role in influencing chimpanzee activity behavior, and specifically suggests that chimpanzees thermoregulate behaviorally both by moving to the ground and by decreasing their activity level.
