TL;DR: In this article, the role of the sports entrepreneur and entrepreneurial process in new venture creation projects is examined, and the major managerial and practical implications of sports entrepreneurship are to develop more entrepreneurial thinking in sports-related ventures.
Abstract: The aim of this paper is to structure the existing and emerging field of ‘sport entrepreneurship’ as well as to develop suggestions for future research. This paper examines the role of the sports entrepreneur and entrepreneurial process in new venture creation projects. This paper contributes to a general understanding of entrepreneurship in the sports context and suggests how further theoretical and empirical work on entrepreneurship needs to be conducted in the sports context. The major managerial and practical implications of sports entrepreneurship in this paper are to develop more entrepreneurial thinking in sports-related ventures. This paper is the first to focus on the future potential of sports entrepreneurship in creating entrepreneurial ventures, thereby providing a strong theoretical foundation for future research work.

TL;DR: In this paper, a conceptualisation of sports entrepreneurship that focuses on the role of innovation and regional development in the sports context is presented. And three key components of sport entrepreneurship (opportunity recognition, dynamic capabilities and entrepreneurial competence) are examined.
Abstract: Sport is an important economic and social driver of regional development around the world. Both organisations and individuals are involved in creating innovative ways of fostering regional development through entrepreneurial practices in sport. The aim of this paper is to develop a conceptualisation of sports entrepreneurship that focuses on the role of innovation and regional development in the sports context. Different sport entrepreneurship schools of thought are discussed with a focus on developing theory based on the venture creation process. Three key components of sports entrepreneurship (opportunity recognition, dynamic capabilities and entrepreneurial competence) are examined that lead to a focus on how sports entrepreneurial traits are innovative and encourage regional development. Entrepreneurial sport ventures are then stated which leads to the managerial and theoretical implications of the sports entrepreneurship construct being discussed.

TL;DR: In this paper, the role of entrepreneurship and e-finance in determining a person's intention to adopt mobile banking is discussed, and a conceptual framework that includes a number of propositions that are developed and justified by the literature is presented.
Abstract: This paper focuses on the role of entrepreneurship and e-finance in determining a person's intention to adopt mobile banking. The approach utilised in this paper is to develop a conceptual framework that includes a number of propositions that are developed and justified by the literature. The main findings of this paper are that people's entrepreneurial inclination and learning tendency will determine how they respond to marketing and knowledge about mobile banking. The practical implications are that financial institutions involved in e-finance can focus their marketing efforts at increasing people's exposure to mobile banking.

TL;DR: A theoretical framework is presented, which indicates a number of propositions to describe the intention of a person to adopt cloud computing services, and the role of technology marketing capability, sustained learning and outcome expectancy are included.
Abstract: Cloud computing is an emerging service technology that has ethical and entrepreneurial implications. Due to technological innovations increasing the attention placed on cloud computing services, more people are focusing on the security and privacy issues determined by ethical guidelines and how the technology is evolving as an entrepreneurial service innovation. This paper presents a theoretical perspective on how a person adopts cloud computing. The literature on technology innovation and adoption behaviour is examined with a focus on social cognitive theory. A theoretical framework is then presented, which indicates a number of propositions to describe the intention of a person to adopt cloud computing services. The role of technology marketing capability, sustained learning and outcome expectancy are included in helping to understand the role of cloud computing applications. Suggestions for future research and practical implications are stated.

TL;DR: Using non-traditional brand strategy and innovative techniques, Under Armour quickly established a dominant presence in the sport performance apparel market as a newcomer in its product category as discussed by the authors and established strong brand equity among consumers through its messaging and authentic relationship with target consumers.
Abstract: Using non-traditional brand strategy and innovative techniques, Under Armour quickly established a dominant presence in the sport performance apparel market as a newcomer in its product category. It established strong brand equity among consumers through its messaging and authentic relationship with target consumers. Utilising marketing and brand management theories, this study analysed the entrepreneurial strategies implemented by Under Armour in establishing the company's current positioning in the sport performance apparel marketplace. Using Aaker's (2005) strategic market management theory and Porter's (1980) competitive forces model as a framework, this study analysed the different marketing methods utilised to develop, maintain, and sustain the Under Armour brand.

TL;DR: The role of entrepreneurship and innovation in the context of healthcare management is examined in this article, where a number of service innovations are discussed in terms of their relevance to managerial roles of hospital staff members.
Abstract: This paper examines the role of entrepreneurship and innovation in the context of healthcare management by offering a number of research propositions. In recent years, hospitals have attracted ever growing commentary about rising costs and the need for improving information technology systems. Whilst there have been some service innovations introduced from other industries, particularly the manufacturing industry, there have been few service innovations originating from the healthcare sector. In the healthcare sector, there are a number of service innovations, which are discussed in this paper in terms of their relevance to managerial roles of hospital staff members. In addition, this paper examines the role of entrepreneurial managers in determining innovative technology behaviour in healthcare organisations. Literature from innovation management, corporate intrapreneurship and healthcare management is used to explain the findings of this paper and future areas of research are also proposed.

TL;DR: The role of entrepreneurial sports management in different countries is discussed in this article, as it highlights the changes that have occurred in the global business environment and how businesses compete in the international marketplace and how there is a large potential for entrepreneurial international sport ventures.
Abstract: International sports management is a unique area of academic and practitioner interest, as it is an important part of the global economy. Sport is an international product and service that influences businesses on a global scale. While there is a lot of global media attention on sport in general, there is a gap in the literature on international sports management. The aim of this article is to discuss practical implications and future research directions for international sports management. Therefore, the purpose of this article is to integrate the international management and sports management areas of study. The role of entrepreneurial sports management in different countries is discussed, as it highlights the changes that have occurred in the global business environment. Different areas of international sports management (sports internationalization, sports entrepreneurship, sports branding, sport and corporate social responsibility, sports tourism, regional development of sport, sports marketing, and international action sports) are discussed in terms of practical implications and future research directions. This article demonstrates how businesses compete in the international marketplace and how there is a large potential for entrepreneurial international sport ventures. The major finding of this article is that international sports management is a unique area of study that deserves more attention. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.

TL;DR: In this article, a conceptual framework incorporating emotional response, marketing usefulness, and attitudes towards technological innovations to explain the major factors influencing a person's decision to adopt a mobile reading device was developed.
Abstract: Mobile reading devices are leading the world into another communications revolution and means of conducting everyday activities. The acceptance of mobile reading devices depends on consumer user acceptance in addition to technological innovation. This chapter develops a conceptual framework incorporating emotional response, marketing usefulness, and attitudes towards technological innovations to explain the major factors influencing a person’s decision to adopt a mobile reading device. By incorporating different theoretical approaches to the adoption of mobile reading devices, this chapter highlights how certain aspects of these theories are relevant in the context of electronic books (e-books). The main theories integrated in this chapter that focus on e-books are the technology acceptance model (TAM), theory of reasoned action (TRA), theory of planned behavior (TPB), and social cognitive theory. Three propositions are developed from the conceptual framework and theoretical analysis of technology adoption models that promote and facilitate future empirical research relating to mobile reading devices.
