Economic comparison between azeotropic distillation and different hybrid systems combining distillation with pervaporation for the dehydration of isopropanol

TL;DR: In this paper, an economic analysis was performed comparing different processes for the dehydration of isopropanol/water, and it was found that the hybrid system distillation-pervaporation with ceramic membranes was the most interesting process from economic point of view and could lead to a saving in total costs of 49% compared to azeotropic distillation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Performance of Mitsui NaA type zeolite membranes for the dehydration of organic solvents in comparison with commercial polymeric pervaporation membranes

TL;DR: In this article, a commercial NaA type zeolite membrane (supplied by Mitsui engineering) was investigated for dehydration of the binary mixtures isopropanol/water, acetonitril/water and methylethylketon/water.
