Minimal Criteria for Lung Ultrasonography in Internal Medicine
Janeve Desy,Vicki E. Noble,Andrew S. Liteplo,Paul Olszynski,Brian Buchanan,Renee K. Dversdal,Shane Arishenkoff,Gigi Liu,Elaine Dumoulin,Irene W. Y. Ma +9 more
TL;DR: The use of these minimal criteria for Internal Medicine LUS during teaching and clinical use is strongly recommended and should be strongly recommended.
Journal ArticleDOI
Pd4-03 a randomized trial of ultrasound versus computed tomography for imaging patients with suspected nephrolithiasis
Marshall L. Stoller,Chandra Aubin,John Bailitz,Rimon Bengiamin,Carlos A. Camargo,Thomas Chi,Jill Corbo,Anthony J. Dean,Richard T. Griffey,Gregory D. Jay,Tarina Kang,Dana Robertson-Kriesel,Ruth B. Wang,Steven R. Cummings,Rebecca Smith-Bindman,Lisa D. Mills +27 more
TL;DR: This virtual navigation system, integrating GPS-technology with movable tablet display, is promising for percutaneous interventions and further work is needed to augment the tracking system for intra-corporeal organ motion/deformation.
Book ChapterDOI
Manual of Emergency and Critical Care Ultrasound: Focused assessment with sonography in trauma (FAST)
TL;DR: The objective of the FAST exam is to detect free intraperitoneal and pericardial fluid in the setting of trauma and the cardiac windows are especially critical in penetrating trauma and are reviewed in this section and in Chapter 3.
Journal ArticleDOI
Prognostic utility of the acute cardiac ischemia time-insensitive predictive instrument (ACI-TIPI).
Jonathan S. Ilgen,Alex F. Manini,Udo Hoffmann,Vicki E. Noble,Ediza M. Giráldez,Supapan Nualpring,J. Stephen Bohan +6 more
TL;DR: Preliminary results suggest that, while ACI-TIPI has limited discriminatory value for MACE overall, a score of < 20 may have 30-day prognostic utility to allow for safe outpatient management in patients with acute chest pain.
Journal ArticleDOI
Bedside ultrasound diagnosis of a spontaneous splenic hemorrhage after tissue plasminogen activator administration
TL;DR: Bedside ultrasound by a physician trained in basic ultrasound and the focused assessment with sonography for trauma can diagnose intraabdominal free fluid, facilitating appropriate and more rapid consultation, advanced imaging, and treatment.
