TL;DR: In this article, a direct phased modulated DFB laser with a simple equalizer is proposed for cost-effective ONU implementation in udWDM-PON DBPSK data is successfully transmitted at 125Gb/s achieving a receiver sensitivity of -43dBm at a BER=10-3 with heterodyne detection while a penalty of less than 1dB is observed with 75km when compared with btb

TL;DR: In this article, the upstream of an OFDM-PON with direct modulated lasers tuned in temperature was experimentally tested to cope with the differential link-loss among the users in the PON.
Abstract: The upstream of an OFDM-PON with direct modulated lasers tuned in temperature was experimentally tested. Results demonstrate flexible bandwidth allocation, and show it constitutes an efficient strategy to cope with the differential link-loss among the users in the PON.

TL;DR: An optimal trade-off between the Optical Distribution Network (ODN) power budget and the upstream optical Signal-to-Rayleigh Ratio (US-oSRR) is presented for a Single- Fibre/Wavelength TDM-PON rSOA-based ONU network.
Abstract: In this paper, an optimal trade-off between the Optical Distribution Network (ODN) power budget and the upstream optical Signal-to-Rayleigh Ratio (US-oSRR), for a Single- Fibre/Wavelength TDM-PON rSOA-based ONU network is presented. Up to 32 ONUs can be reached over a practical implementation. Burst operation is considered.
