Journal ArticleDOI
Acute viral hepatitis increases liver stiffness values measured by transient elastography.
Umberto Arena,Francesco Vizzutti,Giampaolo Corti,S. Ambu,Cristina Stasi,Silvia Bresci,S. Moscarella,Vieri Boddi,A. Petrarca,Giacomo Laffi,Fabio Marra,Massimo Pinzani +11 more
TL;DR: LSM does not represent a reliable instrument to detect the presence of advanced fibrosis and cirrhosis in patients presenting with a clinical picture of acute hepatitis, and the extent of necroinflammatory activity needs to be carefully considered in future studies aimed at further validating transient elastography.
Journal ArticleDOI
Cyclooxygenase-2 Pathway Correlates with VEGF Expression in Head and Neck Cancer. Implications for Tumor Angiogenesis and Metastasis
Oreste Gallo,Alessandro Franchi,Lucia Magnelli,Iacopo Sardi,Alfredo Vannacci,Vieri Boddi,Vincenzo Chiarugi,Emanuela Masini +7 more
TL;DR: A central role of COX-2 pathway is suggested in HNC angiogenesis by modulating VEGF production and indicates that COx-2 inhibitors may be useful in H NC treatment.
Journal ArticleDOI
Prognostic value of 6-minute walk corridor test in patients with mild to moderate heart failure: comparison with other methods of functional evaluation.
Carlo Rostagno,Giuseppe Olivo,Marco Comeglio,Vieri Boddi,Michela Banchelli,Giorgio Galanti,Gian Franco Gensini +6 more
TL;DR: The study was designed to evaluate the prognostic value of the 6‐min walk test (6MWT) in patients with mild to moderate congestive heart failure (CHF).
Journal ArticleDOI
Up-regulation of cyclooxygenase 2 gene expression correlates with tumor angiogenesis in human colorectal cancer.
Fabio Cianchi,Camillo Cortesini,Paolo Bechi,Ornella Fantappiè,Luca Messerini,Alfredo Vannacci,Iacopo Sardi,Gianna Baroni,Vieri Boddi,Roberto Mazzanti,Emanuela Masini +10 more
TL;DR: COX-2 is related to tumor angiogenesis in colorectal cancer and it is likely that VEGF is one of the most important mediators of the COx-2 angiogenic pathway.
Journal ArticleDOI
The Role of Asymptomatic Bacteriuria in Young Women With Recurrent Urinary Tract Infections: To Treat or Not to Treat?
T. Tony Cai,Sandra Mazzoli,Nicola Mondaini,Francesca Meacci,Gabriella Nesi,Carolina D'Elia,Gianni Malossini,Vieri Boddi,Riccardo Bartoletti +8 more
TL;DR: This study shows that AB should not be treated in young women affected by UTI, suggesting it may play a protective role in preventing symptomatic recurrence.
