Today, international tourism is one of the most affected sectors of the economy due to the global COVID-19 pandemic. The main purpose of this article is to analyze current trends and identify prospects for the international tourism development in the context of increasing globalization risks in the world, using the example of Ukraine’s integration into the global tourism industry, as Ukraine is located in the centre of Europe and belongs to a number of countries with developing economies, and has the potential to expand its tourism industry, which may be of interest to the international scientific community in terms of overcoming the bifurcation point of its economic development. Analyzing the tourism industry, as one of the most progressive sectors of the world economy, we used general scientific and special research methods (abstract-logical, statistical, systemic analysis and synthesis, abstract-theoretical, and correlation-regression analysis). The paper analyzes major indexes of international tourism development in the modern globalized world and details the risks emerging during the global COVID-19 pandemic. It examines the global dynamics of tourism flows, where France, Spain, and the USA are unquestionable leaders. The study considers foreign exchange earnings of international tourism and the industry contribution to the gross domestic product of countries being an essential component of national budgets. Based on the study conducted, there were developed reliable forecast models for the tourism industry development in the countries under research. These models will provide an opportunity to generate reliable forecasts, which will allow timely identification of potential threats and making effective decisions to address them. At the same time, the issues of managing information support of economic entities in the field of international tourism need to be further developed in order to reduce risks.

International Tourism Development in the Context of Increasing Globalization Risks: On the Example of Ukraine’s Integration into the Global Tourism Industry

Ensuring adequate food availability to an increasing world population constitutes one of the biggest challenges faced by humankind. Scientific and technological advances in food production during the last century enabled agriculture to cope with the concomitant increase in food demand. For example, cereal yields have more than doubled from a global average of 1.5 metric tons per hectare in the 1960s up to 3.2 metric tons per hectare in 2018. This was made possible by the work in different research fields such as agronomy, engineering, and plant sciences, showing that an inter and multidisciplinary approach is indispensable for significant progress. This manuscript is aimed at generating reflexion and analysis about the challenges that agriculture faces at present to satisfy projected food demands, which implies a further doubling of food production by 2050, according to the latest estimates. Relevant issues related to food production (climate change, pollution of water and soils by pesticides and fertilizers, loss of germplasm and biodiversity) are discussed and potential solutions to achieve food security in quantity and quality are reviewed, mainly from the plant breeding and crop-production perspectives, always associated with environmental health preservation and improvement. A broad transdisciplinary effort is needed to increase the impact of science and technology to provide more people with healthier and safer food, produced in a sustainable way. Nonetheless, science and technology alone will not succeed to meet those challenges. Education and knowledge transfer strategies are needed to guarantee responsible production and consumption everywhere, therefore allowing the benefits of scientific and technological progress reach the world population. Simultaneously, adequate action by regulatory authorities and governments concerted at international level, with thorough application of the Precautionary Principle, and aiming at environmental and social justice are imperatively required to meet the challenge and achieve the goal.

Increasing the impact of science and technology to provide more people with healthier and safer food

The accepted Sustainable Development Goals aim at reorienting the tourism industry to sustainable tourism and enhancing post-industrial tourism. In this case, it is necessary to identify the statistically significant determinants which affect post-industrial tourism development. In this paper, we aim to analyse: (1) the impact of economic and environmental dimensions, and of digital marketing on supporting post-industrial tourism development and (2) the difference between attitude to post-industrial tourism on the gender, age, and education dimensions and digital channels on post-industrial tourism development. The data was collected from questioning 2334 respondents during April–November 2020. The study applied the following methods: frequencies, percentages, t-test, and one-way ANOVA and multiple regression analysis. The findings confirmed the statistically significant impact of the economic and environmental dimensions, as well as digital marketing on post-industrial tourism development. The results of the analysis justified that digital marketing was a catalysator of post-industrial tourism development. In addition, the findings confirmed that there is no difference in attitudes towards post-industrial tourism with respect to the dimensions of age, gender, and education.

Implications of digital economy for financial institutions in Ghana: an exploratory inquiry

In the era of limited resources and progressive environmental degradation, the circular economy is a practical application of sustainable development. It is an alternative, but also competitive way to achieve economic growth in accordance with the principles of sustainable development. This issue was considered in this paper in the context of the Ukrainian economy. The Ukrainian economy’s transformation into a circular one needs to find ways to choose practical tools for such a transition, considering the destructive impact of economic activities on the environment, population, and economy. The goal was to develop a method of choosing tools for the circular transformations of economic activities for each cluster and to reduce man-made damage to the environment. Cluster analysis, fuzzy C-means method, and grouping of economic activities were used. Two analyzed sectors turned out to be the most interesting: mining and quarrying, and electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply, which were finally assigned to the cluster with a high level of destructive impact, defined as ‘environmentally unfriendly’. The proposed method allows the choice of circular transformation tools for economic activities depending on the destructive impact of these economic activities within each cluster.

У статті висвітлено перспективи підвищення конкурентоспроможності аграрних підприємств Ук раїни на основі впровадження інновацій високих технологічних укладів. Здійснено їх ідентифіка цію, оцінку та діагностику як чинник формування конкурентоспроможності. Визначено проблеми та причини їх недостатнього й повільного впровадження в переважну більшість агроутворень країни, крім агрохолдингів та агрокорпорацій. Водночас ставиться наголос на інноваціях саме високих тех нологічних укладів — четвертого й п'ятого як вирішальних для оцифровування, автоматизації й інших передових світових трендів розвитку сільськогосподарського виробництва. Визначено найбільш масштабні їх види, які не дозволять аграрному сектору країни потрапити в так звану пастку глоба лізації. Серед них точне землеробство, БЛА технології, мобільні пристрої, робототехніка тощо. Еко номічний ефект від впровадження інновацій полягає у зменшенні штату агрономів, знижені витрат на паливо для об'їзду й обробітку полів, скороченні витрат добрив. Маючи у розпорядженні один або кілька центрів супутникового стеження, можна оптимізувати деякі витрати, через які раніше бізнес був на межі рентабельності. Головне — оптимізувати якість і віддачу кожного ресурсу: землі, працівника, техніки або добрива. Кожна операція має забезпечити якісні, а не кількісні зміни.

Improving the competitiveness of agricultural enterprises of ukraine on the basis of innovation

The article deals with the imperatives of the development of the tourist services market, which determines the parameters of the aggregate value of the sub-indices of the mesoand local levels in the spatial polarization of the regional tourist system. The methodology of spatial polarization of the regional tourist system, which provides convergence of the infra-structural space of tourist services, formation of an innovative nucleus, minimization of manifestation of destructive factors, balancing of interests of regions and the country as a whole is substantiated. It has been proposed the scientific-methodical approach to the definition of the target landmarks for the development of the tourist services market, which implements polarized tourist space in terms of quantitative and qualitative parameters, makes it possible to analyze the destructive determinants of the periphery and determinants-producers of the tourist center of activity, evaluation * Corresponding author Natalia V. A comprehensive approach to the assessment of the concentration of the aggregate value of the security index of the regional tourist system, which is differentiated by the components of the regional security potential and threats, guarantees the development of the tourist services market and modifies the tourist system on the meso-level as a whole.

Formation of competitive advantages of tourism industry entities

The purpose of this article is to investigate the innovative development of Ukrainian agricultural enterprises in the context of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. The article presents the organizational and economic mechanism of innovative provision of competitive development of agrarian enterprises on the basis of the Fourth Industrial Revolution through inter-sectoral integration and development of digital agriculture to stimulate the diffusion of innovations, the implementation of the program of innovative entrepreneurship in the countryside, the formation of a symbiotic-complementary system of activation of technological and managerial innovations. It is proved that the basis of organizational and economic mechanism of innovative investing is creation of favourable business environment for realization of innovation-investment projects by agricultural enterprises, stimulation of integration of scientific developments and results of strategic management into production, formation of market competitive advantages in the long run. It is proved that the development of agrarian enterprises in Ukraine occurs under the conditions of radical economic changes aimed at strengthening the economic management methods and innovative component of their functioning. The aim of such transformation is to achieve economic growth and balance of functioning; ensuring the organic combination of the interests of business entities; transformation of scientific and technological progress into the main factor of economic growth; creation of conditions for realization of consumer priority in economic relations. Innovative changes in the functioning of agricultural enterprises contribute to the solution of the issues of technological and technological renewal, innovation-marketing development and economic growth.Increasing the competitiveness of enterprises in the agrarian sector of the Ukrainian economy, their timely adaptation to changes in the competitive environment, the formation of sustainable competitive advantages based on the most complete alignment of strategic capabilities of enterprises with internal potential and unused reserves, maximal synergies of the efficiency of work in a competitive market are also directly dependent on the technological renewal and diffusion of innovation.Taking into account the contradictions of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, it can be concluded that mankind can be saved from the stagnation only by collective mind which is capable to transform the absence of work and reduction of human’s employment into means of social and personal development.
