Synthesis and Characterization of ZnO/CuO Nanocomposites as an Effective Photocatalyst and Gas Sensor for Environmental Remediation

The present research deals with fabrication of undoped SnO2, Co2+ doped SnO2 and nitrogen doped SnO2 nanostructures. These three materials were prepared by cost effective co-precipitation method. While the thick film sensors of the prepared materials was design by screen printing photolithography technique. The fabricated materials were characterized by several techniques. The structural properties of the screen-printed thick films measured by X-ray diffractometer (XRD), which confirms the formation of tetragonal SnO2 nanoparticles with average particle size between 15 and 17 ​nm. The morphological properties of fabricated thick of SnO2 were studied by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HR-TEM) to get surface and lattice characteristics of prepared material. The EDS technique was utilized to get the elemental composition of the prepared thick film sensors. While the UV-DRS technique was used to get the band gap energy of undoped SnO2 and modified SnO2 sensors. Additionally, the materials were investigated by means of Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) study, and from BET results the cobalt modified SnO2 has found to be higher surface area. These all-prepared sensors were applied for gas sensing results of NO2, LPG, CO and volatile organic compounds (VOC’S). The modified sensors found to be very effective at NO2 and VOC gas vapors with 80.23% and 69.13% gas response for cobalt modified SnO2 was observed. The tested gases NO2 and VOC found to be very selective modified sensors. Reusability and recycling results demonstrate that Co2+ doped SnO2 is very efficient, long time stable and reproducible sensor at NO2 and VOC gases at minimum gas concentration and moderate temperature.

Designing of screen-printed stannous oxide (SnO2) thick film sensors modified by cobalt and nitrogen elements for sensing some toxic gases and volatile organic compounds

A variety of 3,4-dihydropyrimidin-2(1H)-ones derivatives were synthesized via three-component Biginelli reaction. The quaternary ammonium-treated clay-catalyzed process proved to be simple, efficient, and environmentally friendly.

A green and efficient method for the preparation of 3, 4-dihydropyrimidin-2(1H)-ones using quaternary ammonium- treated clay in water

The present era in terms of research is recognised as an era of nanoscience and nanotechnology. Since almost all the branches of science, engineering and technology are coalesce together to give effective solutions in all manner to serve the mankind better. The term nanomaterial becoming popular day after day and gaining the attention of academician, research scholars, and scientists due to its unique properties as compared to the bulk material. The main motive to write the review is to elaborates the fundamental concepts of nanotechnology, origin of nanotechnology, characteristics of properties of nanomaterials such as shape and size, surface charge and stability, quantum size effect, optical properties, mechanical, magnetic, thermal, electrical properties, chemical structure and composition, catalytic activity and the fabrication methods (Top-down and bottom-up methods). The review further extends to convolutes the systematic classification of nanomaterials based on configuration and dimensionality such as 0D, 1D, 2D, and 3D. In addition to this, the review also focused on the surface morphology, chemical nature and various compositional based nanostructures such as organic nanoparticles (NP’s), inorganic NP’s, carbon based NP’s, hybrid and composite based NP’s. The various magnetic characteristics associated with materials such as paramagnetic, diamagnetic, ferromagnetic, antiferromagnetic and ferromagnetic domains are also tangled in the present review. Presently researchers are looking towards nanotechnology as an remedy to solve several problems associated with environment and ecology. The every main filed of science and technology such as catalysis, biotechnology, sensor technology, fuel economy, fuel crisis, biosensors, effluent treatment, solar cells technology, energy resources etc. are moving towards the centre one theme and that is nanotechnology. According to the modern researchers in the upcoming years the nanotechnology may be utilized to frame the new objects with help invented nanomaterials and it will be based on flexible nanocomposite which can be utilized to reduce the size objects such mobile gadgets, computers, laptops, cars etc. The materials can be foldable and having recused size. In addition to that the nanotechnology can also be utilized to fabricate the wearable sensor materials. These wearable sensors will be able to sense the toxic pollutants and other gases in specific concentration and that are wearable on body. This term will recognise in future as wearable fitness technology. The next future of nanotechnology is also related with self-healing structures which will be utilized to enhance problems associated with aircraft cockpits and microelectronics. In future nanotechnology will also be utilized in the form of ultra-dense memory that will allow storing the maximum amount of data. Most important application of nanomaterials is environmental based and recognized in the form of tackling climate change. Thus, in overall it can be summarized as nanotechnology will next future for human being and better ness of environment. 

The Augmentation of nanotechnology era: A concise review on fundamental concepts of nanotechnology and applications in material science and technology

Fabrication, characterization and exploration of cobalt (II) ion doped, modified zinc oxide thick film sensor for gas sensing characteristics of some pernicious gases

Using the synthetic potential of recyclable zinc oxide(ZnO) nanoparticles (NPs), a proficient, elegant, and rapid one-pot synthesis of a variety of 3,4-dihydropyrimidine-2(1H)-one/thione derivatives from the1,3-dicarbonyl compound, urea/thiourea, and various aromatic aldehydes havebeen unveiled in the present research. TheZnONPs were synthesized by theco-precipitation method. The powder X-ray diffraction method was employed for the determination of thecrystallite size of the synthesized ZnONPs.The hexagonal phase was obtained in the XRD pattern of the synthesized ZnO NPs with anaverage crystallite size of 25 nm.The current synthetic strategy offers excellent yields, a short reaction time, favorable reaction conditions, easy transformation, non-chromatographic product purification, and catalyst recyclability. Furthermore, the catalyst could be retrieved and reused without losing any of its catalytic activity. As a result, this elegant protocol is an adequate method fordihydropyrimidinone/thione synthesis.

Zinc Oxide Nanoparticles Promoted Highly Efficient and Benign Synthesis of 3,4-Dihydropyrimidine-2(1H)-one/thione Derivatives

Article Info Abstract Acmella paniculata (Wall. Ex DC.) R. K. Jansen, also known as Akkalkadha or toothache plant is an important medicinal herb of the Asteraceae family that grows in the tropics and subtropics of the world. The present phytochemical investigation aimed at evaluating the impact of different solvents on extraction yields, ash analysis, fluorescence analysis and phytochemical compounds from flower drug of A. paniculata plant. The results indicate that solvents have a significant impact in the yield of extraction. Resulting in the higher extraction yield in solvent distilled water and ethanol. Flavonoids, alkaloids, tannins, saponins, cardiac glycosides, and terpenoids are found in the crude flower drug of the plant. The present study is useful in drug standardization, identifying the adulteration in the Ayurvedic medicines from this plant. :
