Early Versus Delayed Source Control in Open Abdomen Management for Severe Intra-abdominal Infections: A Retrospective Analysis on 111 Cases
Stefano Rausei,Vincenzo Pappalardo,Laura Ruspi,Antonio Colella,Simone Giudici,Vincenzo Ardita,Francesco Frattini,Francesca Rovera,Luigi Boni,Gianlorenzo Dionigi +9 more
TL;DR: Early source control using OA management significantly improves outcome of patients with severe IAIs, and well fits to the treatment of time-related conditions, particularly in case of critically ill patients.
Journal ArticleDOI
Incidence of deep venous thrombosis in COVID-19 hospitalized patients during the first peak of the Italian outbreak.
Domenico Baccellieri,Luca Bertoglio,Luca Apruzzi,Vincenzo Ardita,Armando D'Angelo,Matteo Bossi,Enrico Rinaldi,Victor Bilman,Stefania Calvisi,Antonella Castagna,Laura Galli,Giovanni Landoni,Germano Melissano,Patrizia Rovere Querini,Moreno Tresoldi,Francesco De Cobelli,Alberto Zangrillo,Fabio Ciceri,Roberto Chiesa +18 more
TL;DR: Despite LMWH prophylaxis or full anticoagulant therapy, the incidence of DVT, mainly asymptomatic, in hospitalized COVID-19 patients was 14.5%.
Journal ArticleDOI
Isolated Common Iliac Artery Aneurysms Treated Solely With Iliac Branch Stent-Grafts: Midterm Results of a Multicenter Registry:
Alessia Giaquinta,Vincenzo Ardita,Ciro Ferrer,Clive B. Beggs,Massimiliano Veroux,Matteo Barbante,Matteo Orrico,Piergiorgio Cao,Piefrancesco Veroux +8 more
TL;DR: The use of IBDs without an aortic stent-graft for isolated CIAAs resulted in excellent patency, with low morbidity and mortality, and supports the use of isolated I BDs as a stable and durable means of endovascular reconstruction in cases with suitable anatomy.
Journal ArticleDOI
Renal perfusion with histidine-tryptophan-ketoglutarate compared with Ringer's solution in patients undergoing thoracoabdominal aortic open repair
Andrea Kahlberg,Yamume Tshomba,Domenico Baccellieri,Luca Bertoglio,Enrico Rinaldi,Vincenzo Ardita,Elisa Colombo,Umberto Moscato,Germano Melissano,Roberto Chiesa,Luca Apruzzi,Samuele Bossi,R. Castellano,Barbara Catenaccio,Angela Maria Rosaria Ferrante,Giovanni Landoni,Rosalba Lembo,Pasquale Nardelli,Laura Pasin,Elisa Simonini,Massimo Venturini +20 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors compared the efficacy of renal perfusion with Custodiol (Dr Franz-Kohler Chemie GmbH, Bensheim, Germany) versus enriched Ringer's solution for renal protection in patients undergoing open thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysm (TAAA) repair.
Journal ArticleDOI
The "venous perspective" in Lombardia (Italy) during the first weeks of the COVID-19 epidemic.
Domenico Baccellieri,Luca Apruzzi,Vincenzo Ardita,Enrico Rinaldi,Luca Bertoglio,Germano Melissano,Roberto Chiesa +6 more
TL;DR: Evaluated patterns have emerged: during the initial days, the patient reluctance to mix-up in hospitals with COVID-19 patients determined a reduction of all vascular emergencies, after two weeks, a sensible increase of arterial limb ischemia was observed requiring both open and endovascular interventions as well as an increase of DVT cases.
