Journal ArticleDOI

Acetylcholinesterase inhibition by fused dihydroquinazoline compounds

TL;DR: In a manner analogous to the potency enhancement obtained by addition of chlorine atoms to the tacrine molecule, a 3-chloro derivative of the parent hexahydroazepino[2,1-b]quinazoline structure was found to be about 8 times more potent as an AChE inhibitor than the unsubstituted compound.
Journal ArticleDOI

Synthesis of fluorine-18 labeled GABA uptake inhibitors

TL;DR: The first syntheses of fluorine-18 labeled inhibitors of GABA reuptake by the condensation of appropriately substituted [18F]benzhydryl chlorides with N-(2-hydroxyethyl)nipecotic acid ethyl ester are described.
Journal ArticleDOI

The synthesis and in vitro acetylcholinesterase and butyrylcholinesterase inhibitory activity of tacrine (Cognex®) derivaties

TL;DR: Chlorosubstituted derivatives of tacrine, 1,4-methylenetacrine, and their in vitro acetylcholinesterase and butyrylcholiersterase inhibitory activities are described.
Journal ArticleDOI

Synthesis and metabolic profile of Cl‐966: A potent, orally‐active inhibitor of GABA uptake

TL;DR: In this article, a lipophilic derivative of the known GABA uptake inhibitor guvacine, Cl-966, has been synthesized and the synthesis of this compound, [1]2-bis 4-(trifluoromethyl)]phenyl[-methoxy]ethyl[- 1,2,5,6-tet-rahydro-3-pyridine carboxylic acid, monohydrochloride, Cl 966, is described.
