Journal ArticleDOI

A far-infrared ‘polari-interferometer’ for simultaneous electron density and magnetic field measurements in plasmas

TL;DR: In this paper, a far-infrared polarimeter is combined with a Veron-type interferometer to yield the line integrals in a plasma simultaneously along the same probing beam.
Journal ArticleDOI

Theoretical considerations and preparatory experiments for poloidal field measurements in tokamaks by far-infrared polarimetry

TL;DR: In this paper, numerical calculations give an optimum wavelength and show the precision requirements for determining poloidal field profiles in tokamaks on the basis of the Faraday effect, which can be achieved in the far-infrared as is verified in a model experiment using a ferrite modulated HCN laser beam.
