Journal ArticleDOI

Optical Time Projection Chamber for imaging nuclear decays

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present a novel type of a time projection chamber in which tracks of charged particles ionizing an active gas volume are recorded by means of optical signals by combining a CCD camera image with the electron drift-time profile measured by a photomultiplier.
Journal ArticleDOI

First observation of β-delayed three-proton emission in Fe 45

TL;DR: In this article, the decay of extremely neutron deficient Fe was studied by means of a new type of a gaseous detector in which a technique of digital imaging was used to record tracks of charged particles.
Journal ArticleDOI

β-delayed proton emission branches in Cr43

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors studied the decay of very neutron-deficient $^{43]-mathrm{Cr} channels by means of an imaging time projection chamber that allowed recording tracks of charged particles.
Journal ArticleDOI

Intercalibration of the ZEUS high resolution and backing calorimeters

TL;DR: In this paper, the combined performance of two calorimeters, the high resolution uranium-scintillator prototype of the ZEUS forward calorimeter (FCAL), followed by a prototype of a coarser Zeus backing calorometer (BAC), made out of thick iron plates interleaved with planes of aluminium proportional chambers, was studied.
Journal ArticleDOI

Two-proton radioactivity of 45Fe

TL;DR: In this article, the angular and energy correlations between two protons emitted from the ground state of 45Fe ground state were measured and the obtained results were confronted with predictions of a three-body model.
