Proceedings ArticleDOI

A real-time dynamic equivalent solution for large interconnected power systems

TL;DR: In this paper, a parallel dynamic equivalent model composed of an equivalent generator and an equivalent synthesis load was put forward, in which the equivalent generator uses a 3rd order electromechanical transient model with damping while the equivalent synthesize load uses a static characteristic model considering both voltage and frequency.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Three-phase symmetrical short circuit current characteristic analysis of doubly fed induction generator with crowbar protection

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors studied three-phase symmetrical short circuit current characteristics of DFIG with crowbar protection in depth, and simulations have been made in PSCAD/EMTDC.
Journal ArticleDOI

Study of Power System Online Dynamic Equivalent Based on Wide Area Measurement System

TL;DR: Test on EPRI 8-machine 36-bus system shows that dynamic equivalent model of external system can reflect the dynamic behaviors of the original system accurately and is fundamental work and an effective approach for dynamic analysis of large power systems.
