The National Human Activity Pattern Survey (NHAPS): a resource for assessing exposure to environmental pollutants.
Neil E. Klepeis,Neil E. Klepeis,William C. Nelson,Wayne R. Ott,John Robinson,Andy M Tsang,Paul Switzer,Joseph V. Behar,Stephen C. Hern,William H. Engelmann +9 more
TL;DR: The number of people exposed to environmental tobacco smoke in California seems to have decreased over the same time period, where exposure is determined by the reported time spent with a smoker.
Journal ArticleDOI
A Physical Explanation of the Lognormality of Pollutant Concentrations
TL;DR: This paper takes the first step toward explaining why lognormal distributions can arise naturally from certain physical processes that are analogous to those found in the environment.
Book
Environmental Statistics and Data Analysis
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present a model for estimating parameters of the Lognormal distribution of the probability distribution in a three-parameter lognormal model and apply it to environmental problems.
Journal ArticleDOI
Personal exposure to ultrafine particles
Lance Wallace,Wayne R. Ott +1 more
TL;DR: The indoor/outdoor ratios of size-resolved UFP were much lower than for PM2.5 or PM10, suggesting that outdoor UFP has difficulty in penetrating a home, and implies that outdoor concentrations of UFP have only a moderate effect on personal exposures if indoor sources are present.
