Journal ArticleDOI

Review on active thermal protection and its heat transfer for airbreathing hypersonic vehicles

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present a comprehensive literature review on three active cooling methods, i.e., regenerative cooling, film cooling, and transpiration cooling, including the fluids flow, heat transfer, and thermal cracking characteristics of different hydrocarbon fuels.
Journal ArticleDOI

Flow pattern in reverse-flow centrifugal separators

TL;DR: In this paper, experimental flow patterns, determined by Laser Doppler Anemometry (LDA) for two types of reverse-flow centrifugal separators, are presented.
Journal ArticleDOI

Experimental and numerical investigation of convection heat transfer in channels with different types of ribs

TL;DR: In this article, the thermal/hydraulic performance of the V-shaped ribs was investigated in a channel with 90° ribs and V-shape ribs, and the results indicated that the 45° Vshaped continuous ribs had the best thermal and hydraulic performance.
Journal ArticleDOI

Influence of hole geometry on film cooling effectiveness for a constant exit flow area

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of hole geometry on the film cooling effectiveness for a constant film cooling exit flow area was investigated experimentally and numerically for four kinds of film cooling holes, the cylindrical hole, the fan-shaped hole, double jet hole and the hole with sister holes.
