Oxidative stress-mediated cytotoxicity and metabolism of T-2 toxin and deoxynivalenol in animals and humans: an update
Qinghua Wu,Qinghua Wu,Xu Wang,Wei Yang,Andreas K. Nussler,Lingyun Xiong,Kamil Kuca,Vlastimil Dohnal,Xiu-Juan Zhang,Zonghui Yuan +9 more
TL;DR: This review will provide useful information on the progress of oxidative stress as well as on the metabolism and the metabolizing enzymes of T-2 toxin and DON and throw light on the blind spots of metabolism and toxicological studies in trichothecenes.
Original article: AGE-DEPENDENT CHANGES OF THE ANTIOXIDANT SYSTEM IN RAT LIVERS ARE ACCOMPANIED BY ALTERED MAPK ACTIVATION AND A DECLINE IN MOTOR SIGNALING
Wei Yang,Britta Burkhardt,Luise Fischer,Maja Beirow,Nadja I. Bork,Eva C. Wönne,Cornelia Wagner,Bettina Husen,Katrin Zeilinger,Liegang Liu,Andreas K. Nussler,Eberhard Karls +11 more
TL;DR: Data show that the mTOR pathway seems to be activated in livers of aged rats, and hence stimulating cell proliferation/regeneration, as confirmed by an age-dependent increase of PCNA and p-eIF4ESer209 protein expression.
