Dimensionality reduction with generalized linear models
TL;DR: A general optimization algorithm based on natural gradient ascent on distribution manifold is proposed for obtaining the maximum likelihood solutions and some specific algorithms derived from this framework to deal with specific data modeling problems such as document modeling are presented.
Journal ArticleDOI
Mechanical characteristics and energy dissipation characteristics of dredged sand concrete during triaxial loading
TL;DR: In this article , the failure modes of dredged sand concrete under different confining pressures were analyzed firstly, and then the mechanical property was explored. But the results showed that the residual stress of concrete under triaxial cyclic loading was smaller than that under monotonic loading.
Journal ArticleDOI
A partial structure factor investigation of the bulk metallic glass Zr63Ni25Al12 as studied by using a combination of anomalous X-ray scattering and reverse Monte Carlo modeling
Shinya Hosokawa,Shinya Hosokawa,Jean François Bérar,Nathalie Boudet,Shinji Kohara,Wolf Christian Pilgrim,Maike Joester,Jens Rüdiger Stellhorn,Anita Zeidler,Kenji Maruyama,Toshio Nasu,Wei Zhang,Hidemi Kato +12 more
TL;DR: Anomalous X-ray scattering experiments were performed on Zr63Ni25Al12 bulk metallic glass as discussed by the authors, where the results were analyzed using reverse Monte Carlo modeling to obtain local and intermediate-ra...
Journal ArticleDOI
Solid electrically tunable dual-focus lens using freeform surfaces and microelectro-mechanical-systems actuator
TL;DR: In this Letter, a miniature solid tunable dual-focus (DF) lens, which is designed using freeform optical surfaces and driven by one microelectro-mechanical-systems rotary actuator, is reported.
Journal ArticleDOI
A mechanistic interpretation of the strength-ductility trade-off and synergy in lamellar microstructures
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors studied the strength-ductility trade-off of equiaxed and lamellar microstructures when geometric features are the only tuning parameter and found that failures in lamellae are preceded by necking in the hard phase.
