Journal ArticleDOI
Pretreatment hematologic markers as prognostic factors in patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
TL;DR: It is indicated that NLR and lymphocyte counts could be prognostic predictors in NPC for East Asian population and due to the limitation of included population, the conclusion was limited to East Asian patients only.
Journal ArticleDOI
Potential toxicity of quercetin: The repression of mitochondrial copy number via decreased POLG expression and excessive TFAM expression in irradiated murine bone marrow.
Ruiqing Chen,Jingan Lin,Jingshen Hong,Deping Han,Addison D. Zhang,Ruilong Lan,Lengxi Fu,Zhao-Yang Wu,Jianhua Lin,Weijian Zhang,Zeng Wang,Wei Chen,Chun Chen,Hengshan Zhang +13 more
TL;DR: The data suggest that the overall toxicity was in part associated with the decrease in mtDNAcn, an effect apparently caused by the inhibition of POLG expression and overexpression of TFAM; unaltered POLG2 expression did not seem to contribute to toxicity.
Journal ArticleDOI
Icaritin Synergistically Enhances the Radiosensitivity of 4T1 Breast Cancer Cells
Jinsheng Hong,Zhenhuan Zhang,Wenlong Lv,Mei Zhang,Chun Chen,Shanmin Yang,Shan Li,Lurong Zhang,Deping Han,Weijian Zhang +9 more
TL;DR: ICT is a new radiosensitizer and can enhance anti-cancer effect of IR or other therapies, and synergize with IR to enhance cell apoptosis.
Journal ArticleDOI
18β-Glycyrrhetinic acid mitigates radiation-induced skin damage via NADPH oxidase/ROS/p38MAPK and NF-κB pathways.
Li Su,Zeng Wang,Fei Huang,Ruilong Lan,Xiuying Chen,Deping Han,Lurong Zhang,Weijian Zhang,Jinsheng Hong +8 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that 18β-GA exhibits anti-inflammatory actions against radiation-induced skin damage probably by inhibiting NADPH oxidase activity, ROS production, activation of p38MAPK and NF-κB signaling, and the DNA binding activities of NF-σB and AP-1, consequently suppressing pro-inflammatory cytokine production.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of chemoradiotherapy on nutrition status of patients with nasopharyngeal cancer
TL;DR: To prevent malnutrition during radiotherapy, nutritional assessment and intervention should be an integral part of treatment.
