Human Factors Analysis for Maritime Accidents Based on a Dynamic Fuzzy Bayesian Network.

TL;DR: Direct human factors, classified as unsafe acts, are not a focus for maritime investigators and scholars and unsafe preconditions and unsafe supervision are listed as the top two considerations for human factors analysis, especially for supervision failures of shipping companies and ship owners.
Journal ArticleDOI

A methodology to evaluate human factors contributed to maritime accident by mapping fuzzy FT into ANN based on HFACS

TL;DR: The results show that the proposed ANN-based model has satisfactory performance in overcoming the drawbacks of FTA and can be further improved through the introduction of newly available information/data and the adjustment of the numbers of neurons assigned at the first and second hidden layers according to the architecture of FT.
Journal ArticleDOI

Scattering of Water Waves by a Floating Body with Two Vertically Attached Porous Walls

TL;DR: In this paper, the scattering focused hydrodynamic interaction between linear waves and a proposed structural system with a floating body and two attached vertical porous walls was investigated, and the authors showed that linear waves can interact with a structural system.
Journal ArticleDOI

Analytical Model of Wave Loads and Motion Responses for a Floating Breakwater System with Attached Dual Porous Side Walls

TL;DR: In this article, a set of two-dimensional analytical solutions considering the effects of diffraction and radiation are presented to investigate the hydrodynamic interaction between an incident linear wave and a proposed floating breakwater system consisting of a rectangular-shaped body and two attached vertical side porous walls in an infinite fluid domain with finite water depth.
Journal ArticleDOI

On the causation of seafarers' unsafe acts using grounded theory and association rule

TL;DR: Wang et al. as mentioned in this paper employed grounded theory with the objective of determining the seafarers' unsafe acts and their contributory factors in a systematic way, and within the framework of human factor analysis and classification system (HFACS), the causation of seafarers’ unsafe acts is hierarchized.
