First Spaceborne Phase Altimetry over Sea Ice Using TechDemoSat-1 GNSS-R Signals†

TL;DR: In this paper, a track of sea ice reflected Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) signal collected by the TechDemoSat-1 mission is processed to perform phase altimetry over sea ice.
Journal ArticleDOI

Assessment of Spaceborne GNSS-R Ocean Altimetry Performance Using CYGNSS Mission Raw Data

TL;DR: This article assesses the ocean altimetry performance of spaceborne Global Navigation Satellite Systems reflectometry (GNSS-R) by processing the raw data sets collected by the Cyclone GNSS (CYGNSS) constellation, and shows good consistency with the theoretical model.
Journal ArticleDOI

Revisiting the GNSS-R Waveform Statistics and Its Impact on Altimetric Retrievals

TL;DR: This paper analyzes the ocean altimetry precision of global navigation satellite systems’ reflectometry (GNSS-R) by characterizing the noise statistics of the measured waveform by derive an analytical model of the waveform statistics after incoherent averaging.
Journal ArticleDOI

First Precise Spaceborne Sea Surface Altimetry With GNSS Reflected Signals

TL;DR: This work presents the first implementation of GA carrier phase sea surface altimetry using data acquired from a spaceborne platform and transmitted from both GPS and Galileo constellations, and indicates that the resulting precision and spatio–temporal resolution would contribute to resolving some submesoscale ocean signals.
