Carbon-14 Dates at Grande Pile: Correlation of Land and Sea Chronologies

TL;DR: Sixteen radiocarbon dates extending back to 70,000 years provide a chronology for the continuous continental pollen record of Grande Pile and indicate the cold period initiating the Middle Weichselian, which is marked by the disappearance of deciduous forests at this site.

Physical and chemical aspects of radiocarbon dating

TL;DR: Theoretically, all materials containing carbon can be subjected to radiocarbon dating, regardless of the form, i.e., organic or non-organic as discussed by the authors, and the physical aspects of 14 C, the process of radioactive decay, age determination, 14 C detection methods, the activity and age calculations, the standard deviation, the average value of a number of ages and propagation of errors, undersized samples, the age limit and correction for isotope fractionation.

Seasonal, latitudinal, and secular variations in the abundance and isotopic ratios of atmospheric carbon dioxide: 1. Results from land stations

TL;DR: In this paper, the seasonally adjusted 13C/12C ratio is found to have decreased at a rate of about 0.02 ǫ per ppm increase in the CO2 concentration and to vary with latitude as expected if CO2 is being released by fossil fuel combustion in the northern hemisphere and from ocean water near the equator.
