Pathways of trace elements in power plants: interim research results and implications

TL;DR: EPRI's Plant Integrated Systems: Chemical Emissions Studies (PISCES) research program has been instituted to improve the understanding of chemical emissions from power plants as mentioned in this paper, which includes the creation of an industry data base on trace chemical emissions, to define methods for measuring these substances, to establish the capabilities of existing and emerging environmental technologies for controlling these chemicals, if warranted, and to conduct field sampling campaigns at pilot and full-scale power plants to ascertain process trace chemical data absent from the literature.

Targeted fluid delivery system

TL;DR: In this paper, a targeted fluid delivery system (110) is provided for delivering a treatment fluid (F) into tubes (I) of a tube and shell type heat exchanger such as in a condenser (C), typically used in a power plant.

Managing air toxics under the new Clean Air Act Amendments

TL;DR: The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has been regulating air toxics (hazardous air pollutants) under Section 112 of the 1970 Clean Air Act Amendments as mentioned in this paper.

Total trihalomethane formation during targeted and conventional chlorination of seawater for biofouling control

TL;DR: In this paper, a study was conducted to compare the potential for total trihalomethane (TTHM) formation using conventional versus targeted chlorination in cooling waters where chlorine is applied for biofouling control.
