TL;DR: The aragonite compensation depth fluctuated considerably during the last 20,000 yr. This fluctuation culminated in a preservation spike at about 14,000 yr BP as discussed by the authors, and constitutes part of a worldwide phenomenon signalling considerable changes in ocean chemistry and providing a useful tool for correlation.
Abstract: The aragonite compensation depth fluctuated considerably during the last 20,000 yr. This fluctuation culminated in a preservation spike at about 14,000 yr BP. The aragonite preservation stratigraphy parallels that in calcitic foraminifera, and constitutes part of a worldwide phenomenon signalling considerable changes in ocean chemistry and providing a useful tool for correlation.

TL;DR: The oxygen and carbon isotopic signals of planktonic Foraminifera from closely spaced samples from two box cores taken in the western equatorial Pacific change through the glacial-to-Holocene transition as a result of several factors, one of which is the Holocene dissolution pulse starting about 12,000 years ago and reaching full force shortly after.
Abstract: The oxygen and carbon isotopic signals of planktonic Foraminifera from closely spaced samples from two box cores taken in the western equatorial Pacific change through the glacial-to-Holocene transition as a result of several factors, one of which is the Holocene dissolution pulse starting about 12,000 years ago and reaching full force shortly after. The onset of dissolution comes shortly after the maximum rate of deglaciation but well before the maximum drop in fertility in upper waters. The effect of dissolution is 20 to 30 percent of the amplitude of isotopic change in Globigerinoides sacculifer, at the depth of the present lysocline.

TL;DR: The Berger-Heath model of vertical mixing in deep-sea sediments provides a simple means of simulating an original input signal by unmixing a signal found in deepsea cores as mentioned in this paper.
Abstract: The Berger–Heath model of vertical mixing in deep-sea sediments provides a simple means of simulating an original input signal by ‘unmixing’ a signal found in deep-sea cores. When applied to an oxygen isotope record from the western equatorial Pacific, the possibility emerges that the entire ocean was covered by a low salinity water layer, during deglaciation.
