TL;DR: In this paper, a modular integral over the weight zero terms of the character valued partition function (or elliptic genus) of the theory is directly expressed in terms of a factor which multiplies Tr F 2 − Tr R 2 in the field theory anomaly, and the integrands have a non-trivial dependence on the modular parameter τ, reflecting contributions not only from the physical massless states but also from an infinity of unphysical modes.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors derived supersymmetry Ward type identities in terms of Kac-Moody characters, relating parity conserving with parity violating amplitudes, and derived the β-function of four-dimensional N = 2 theories from the elliptic genus in d = 6.

TL;DR: In this paper, it was shown that a superstring can have four kinds of space-time supersymmetry corresponding to the exceptional algebras E 6, E 7, E 8 and F 4.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors compute the index Tr(−1)F for the N = 2 supercharge on orbifold and manifold backgrounds, and show that it generalizes the Dolbeault index ind ∂.
