Optically Pure, Crystalline ′Acetate′‐Aldols from N‐Acetylbornane‐10,2‐ sultam.

TL;DR: O -Silylation of N -acetylsultam 2 gives O -silyl- N, O -ketene acetal 3 which undergoes TiCl 4 promoted addition to aromatic and aliphatic aldehydes to afford, after flash chromatography, diastereomerically pure, crystalline aldols 5 which are readily converted to enanti-hydroxy carboxylic acids or esters as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI

Asymmetric Induction on Copper(I) Chloride Catalyzed 1,4‐Addition of Alkylmagnesium Chlorides to α,β‐Disubstituted (E)‐Enoylsultams and Subsequent Protonation.

TL;DR: In this article, conjugated N-enoylsultams with alkyl Grignard reagents/CuCl and aq. NH4Cl solution generated selectively two stereogenic centers at C(α) and C(β) providing, after flash chromatography and crystallization, acylsultams 5 in high purity.
Journal ArticleDOI

An enantioselective total synthesis of natural (+)‐luciduline

Wolfgang Oppolzer, +1 more
- 10 Apr 1979 -
TL;DR: In this article, the naturally occurring Lycopodium alkaloid (+)-luciduline (1) has been synthesized from (R)-5-methyl-cyclohex-2-en-1-one (12) by a sequence of seven steps (s. Scheme 6) in 33% overall yield.
