A flame-retardant polycarbonate resin composition characterized by comprising 100 parts by weight of a polycarbonate resin (A), about 0.01 to 8 parts by weight of a silicone compound (B) whose main chain has a branched structure and whose organic substituents bear aromatic groups, either about 0.03 to 5 parts by weight of a metal salt (C) of an aromatic sulfur compound or about 0.01 to 5 parts by weight of a metal salt (D) of a perfluoroalkanesulfonic acid and, if necessary, about 0.05 to 5 parts by weight of a fiber-forming fluoropolymer (E). This composition is remarkably improved in flame retardance without impairing the impact resistance and moldability, and is out of danger of generating a halogen-containing gas due to a flame retardant in burning by virtue of its being free from a flame retardant comprising a chlorine or bromine compound, thus being advantageous in respect to environmental protection.

To provide a thermoplastic polyester resin composition which has a very good durability to alkaline solutions for a long period of time. That is, a thermoplastic polyester resin composition, wherein a thermoplastic polyester resin (A) is compounded with 1-25% by weight (in the total composition) of impact resistance rendering materials (B), 0.1-15% by weight (in the total composition) of a silicone compound and/or a fluorine compound (C), 1-50% by weight (in the total composition) of an inorganic filler (D), and 0.1-10% by weight of at least one polyfunctional compound (E) selected from the group consisting of an epoxy compound, an isocyanate compound and a carboxylic acid dianhydride. A molded article of the present invention has anti-stress properties even in a weld part thereof.

An object of the present invention is to propose a novel thermoplastic resin composition having high impact resistance without degrading weather resistance even when the content of an impact modifier is small. A thermoplastic resin composition includes 100 parts by weight of a thermoplastic resin (a) and 0.5 to 20 parts by weight of an impact modifier (b) containing a graft copolymer (b-1) containing at least one (meth)acrylate flexible polymer phase and a rigid polymer phase serving as the outermost part of the graft copolymer, a water-soluble polymer compound (b-2) having a physical gel-forming property, and a gelling agent (b-3). In the thermoplastic resin composition, the content of the water-soluble polymer compound (b-2) having the physical gel-forming property is 0.01 to 3.0 parts by weight relative to 100 parts by weight of the graft copolymer (b-1) and the content of the rigid polymer phase serving as the outermost part in the graft copolymer (b-1) is 0.5 to 10 percent by weight.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject resin composition having excellent dripproof effect and also excellent in surface appearance by melt kneading a fluororesin with a resin composition lying within a specific viscosity range by a specific means so as to afford high dispersibility of the fluororesin in the final composition. SOLUTION: This resin composition, which comprises (A) 100 pts.wt. of a thermoplastic resin, (B) 0.1-30 pts.wt. of a flame retardant and (C) 0.01-5 pts.wt. of a fluororesin, is obtained through the following process: first, a composition M comprising 10-100 pts.wt. of the component A and determined by a capillary rheometer; secondly, the blend is compounded with <=90 pts.wt. of the component A and <=30 pts.wt. of the component B and further kneaded under a melting state. It is preferable that the component C is compounded using a dispersion of tetrafluoroethylene resin.

Production of flame-retardant resin composition with excellent dripproofness

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a resin compsn. which is excellent in flame retardance and dripping prevention effect and is suitable for injection molding by crushing a fluororesin, blending a thermoplastic rein with the crushed fluororesin and a flame retardant, and melt kneading the resultant blend. SOLUTION: 100 pts.wt. thermoplastic resin is compounded with 0.01-5 pts.wt. fluororesin and 0. 1-30 pts.wt. flame retardant. The fluororesin is crushed at -5°C or lower in advance and then is blended with the thermoplastic resin at 10°C or lower before melt kneading. Pref., the thermoplastic resin comprises 5-98 wt.% polycarbonate resin and 95-2 wt.% rubber-reinforced resin which comprises a vinyl polymer and a graft polymer obtd. by grafting at least one vinyl compd. onto a rubbery polymer. CONSTITUTION: 100 pts.wt. inorg. compd. having a specific surface area of 3-1,500m /g and a micropore vol. of 0.1-1.5ml/g or 100 pts.wt. porous polymer having a model pore diameter of 20-1,000Å, a specific surface area of 500-1,500m /g, and a micropore vol. of 0.8-1.5ml/g is stabilized by causing it to adsorb 0.1-40 pts.wt. (in terms of phosphorus) organophosphorus compd. repesented by the formula (wherein R , R , and R are each a 6-20C arom. residue). A thermoplastic resin compsn. comprising a thermoplastic resin, a thermal stabilizer, a light stabilizer, an ultraviolet absorber, an antioxidant, etc., is mixed with the inorg. compd. or porous polymer having adsorbed the organophosphorus compd. in such amt. that the resulting compsn. contains 10-50,000ppm phosphorus.
