Journal ArticleDOI
Dysfunction of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis in opioid dependent subjects: effects of acute and protracted abstinence.
Guo-fu Zhang,Yanping Ren,Li-xia Sheng,Yong Chi,Wan-jun Du,Song Guo,Zuo-ning Jiang,Le Xiao,Xiao-nian Luo,Yi-Lang Tang,Alicia K. Smith,Zhen-qi Liu,Hong-xi Zhang +12 more
TL;DR: The findings suggest that chronic opioid dependence may cause reduced function of the HPA axis, while opioid withdrawal may decrease the response of the pituitary to CRH and increase the adrenal response to ACTH.
Journal ArticleDOI
Nocturnal sleep architecture disturbances in early methadone treatment patients
Le Xiao,Yi-Lang Tang,Alicia K. Smith,Yu-Tao Xiang,Li-xia Sheng,Yong Chi,Wan-jun Du,Song Guo,Zuo-ning Jiang,Guo-fu Zhang,Xiao-nian Luo +10 more
TL;DR: The findings indicate that patients in early methadone treatment have poor sleep quality and abnormal sleep architecture.
Journal ArticleDOI

Wan-jun Du,Yu-Tao Xiang,Yu-Tao Xiang,Zhimin Wang,Yong Chi,Ya Zheng,Xiao-nian Luo,Zhuo-Ji Cai,Gabor S. Ungvari,József Gerevich +9 more

Journal ArticleDOI
Alterations in pituitary-thyroid axis function among opioid-dependent subjects after acute and protracted abstinence.
Guo-fu Zhang,Yi-Lang Tang,Alicia K. Smith,Zhen-qi Liu,Li-xia Sheng,Yong Chi,Wan-jun Du,Song Guo,Zuo-ning Jiang,Le Xiao,Hong-xi Zhang,Xiao-nian Luo +11 more
TL;DR: It was found that free triiodothyronine and free thyroxine levels were comparable with healthy controls while thyroid‐stimulating hormone (TSH) was lower in patients in acute opioid abstinence period, indicating that PTA function is altered in opioid‐dependent subjects.
Journal ArticleDOI
Demographic and Clinical Features of Chinese Heroin Users Who Switch from Non-injection to Injection.
Shaojuan Cui,Yaqiong Li,Yu-Tao Xiang,Kai-Juan Yan,Chanxiao Fan,Qun Chen,Wan-jun Du,Guo-fu Zhang,Le Xiao,Yan Li,Xiaofei Yuan,Kankan Xie,Xiao-nian Luo +12 more
