Mechanical modeling of incompressible particle-reinforced neo-Hookean composites based on numerical homogenization

TL;DR: In this paper, the mechanical response of incompressible particle-reinforced neo-Hookean composites (IPRNC) under general finite deformations is investigated numerically.
Journal ArticleDOI

Fibre-matrix interaction in the human annulus fibrosus.

TL;DR: It is shown that the mechanical behaviour of the Matrix can be well simulated by an incompressible neo-Hookean type model, but the effective stiffness of the matrix depends on fibre stretch ratio, which can only be explained by fibre-matrix interaction.
Journal ArticleDOI

A Hyperelastic Constitutive Model for Chain-Structured Particle Reinforced Neo-Hookean Composites

TL;DR: In this paper, a hyperelastic constitutive model is proposed to predict the mechanical behavior of macroscopically transversely isotropic composites containing chain-structured particles.
Journal ArticleDOI

Shear stiffness of neo-Hookean materials with spherical voids

TL;DR: In this paper, the shear stiffness of a 3D representative volume element (RVE) model with spherical voids is investigated using a numerical homogenization approach, and it is shown that the effect of the size distribution of voids has negligible effect on the effective shear stiffness.
